Am I actually allowed to promote websites(my website in particular) in my signature I can change around in my profile there? It doesn't really say clearly whether I am or not, at least. I couldn't find any section telling me one way or another that is. Anyone know one way or another of have experiences in relation to this?

I have been putting some referral links in my profile, and so far they have not banned me or told me to take it out. I think it is fine to put referral links as lot of people have done it already.

Well i'm not looking to promote my referral link or anything like that, but a link to my website. I suppose since there is no clear-cut explanation on IMReportCard as to being able to or not being able to I guess by posting the link if they don't like it they will send me a message letting me know and i'll take it down immediately. I'll wait for some other peoples replies to this to see what they have to say before making any kind of 100% action of actually doing so though. Anyways, thanks for the response. P.S. You do realize I was talking about the actual signature on IMReportcard, right?(On the actual site not Mylot. They have a signature spot you can fill in.) This sounds more like you were responding to a different question.

ah, i must have misinterpret your question. If you ever see me in Imreportcard, same name, you will see I have a referral link as my signature there! Many apologies about the misunderstanding, and yes you can basically put anything you want unless you know its unappropriate, as they have active admins and moderators that will take care of it if deemed spam or etc.

It's on par with the concept of their website so I think it's alright to post up. All else fails the most I should in a realistic scenario get is a warning and a removal or request for removal of the link. It doesn't have obscene content or anything like that.

The only guideline they give is "not too spammy". I think we all know when its borderline spamming. I have seen some signatures with over 4 links in them. When they post a comment, it overshadows everything! I have my website link in my signature and the admin and I speak frequently. If you are unsure, try emailing them.
