Do you take risks in life?

If you want to go to great heights in life then you need to take certain risks. If you play a safe game (defensive)you can get a mediocre type of life. On the other hand if you play an offensive game you can win your life game in a big way. Are you an offensive player in the game of life? There are two kinds of people. One is employed and the other one is self employed. Do you think that self employed are the ones who take risks in life?

Hi Vijay. Interesting discussion! Yes, I am a "calculated" risk taker. I don't do stupid or deliberately dangerous things, but I do believe to get much of anywhere we DO have to take risks. Self-employment in itself is a risk, yes? So up with taking the wise risks! Karen

Yes, Karen, this is what I expected, one should take calculated risks in life. But sometimes our calculations fail, that is a different story but.

Hi Vijay, I won't take risks in my life. But will take it in Mylot.. Why I say this is because I'll really miss my enjoyment what I am here right now. I mean my present.. Its only for me. But sometimes situation comes to take risks. I am not emplyed right now. But I am happy where I am. Its not we decide how selfemployed are better or not. Its each and everyone of them. I prefer Self-employment. Cheers. Have a great day....

Everything in life is a risk: When you get out of your home to go somewhere, there is no guarantee that you will return home; when you go to sleep at night, there is no guarantee that you will wake up in the morning; whether you go to work for another, there is no guarantee that the job will be available the next day; if you work for yourself, there is no guarantee that you will succeed, regardless of your efforts; etc. Everything in life is risky!

yes of course, i think if someone is to enjoy life to the fullest as I intend my life to be, there are risks involved and in order to reach our full potential we need to take those risks. If we're afraid to fail and afraid to take risks, we'll just end up miserable waifs, closed up in our own little world. and that is no way to live. Self-employed individuals does not necessarily mean that they are the ones who take the risks, because if you plan to open up your own business and you study the ins and outs of that business, calculate your potentials and minimize your risks and in this way maximize your potential, then you are almost not taking any risks. Those who venture out into anything, not necessarily their own businesses, who doesn't study and calculate the risks and the potentials of their endeavors are just foolish people who fails in the end. But if the individual do risk a part of themselves, no matter what shape or form, but makes certain that they know what they are in for and is prepared for every possibility are the one who actually succeeds in life.

true! taking risk in life and being able to handle the risk always takes one to higher ends of success.self employed people who are able to achieve their goals are successful. there may be many self employed who don't earn as much as many those who are employed but they are there own boss. if the self employed are able to meet their ends well then they are successful. success does not mean that one must be rich and famous. success iies in the happiness and satisfaction of a person.

success is what determines everything in life. If you are self employed and not successful who will respect you? no body.

Hello Vijay, Risks...i did this,a real risks of life.I did risk my life in a certain point. I signed for risking my life when i gave birth to my second child.Since i gave birth to my first child thru ceasarian section,i ask my ob-gyne to give me another chance to deliver my second child in a normal way.My doctor explained to me all the risks, but i still insists to give it a try. So,i was given all the necessary care,i been thru 11 hours of labor pains but it was not a successful try,i still ended up thru another operation. During labor,am not allowed to push during contractions, that was real hard time and pain, that made me very weak and trigger my heart problem,(this is what my ob-gyne's been scared for) I was been at the emergency room for another 24 hours for my heartbeat to stabilize.I thank God,and i really cried for my craziness after knowing how critical it was.
