you too? because i do. i have been waiting for it like centuries... lol! hello there friend Red! i love this movie. i like how the story goes and i like the thought of having our very own daemon. is it the right term? they are a person's soul which resides outside the body in an animal like form. though this movie got lots of criticism form religious organizations for the source material's anti-christian and atheistic themes. however it did get an Academy Awards and BAFTA for visual effects. Lyra played the role so good and now i am dying to see the second part. hope it will be out soon. jhelai

I think you may have a long wait as all plans to make part II have been shelved, despite the actual screenplay having already been written. The reasoning being is that the first movie did not make the sort of money which was expected in America and although It did well elsewhere never got close to the financial predictions. So with the down turn in economy it was considered too risky to make a second which may not make a satisfactory return.
