hi friends ,today i have come to know this interesting thing which everyone should know and follow many of us drink water while eating food but this is very bad habit because whenever you eat food some acids are released from intestines and these acids metabolize those foods into required nutrients and minerals for the body so if you drink water these acids get diluted and your food doesnt gets digested normally it takes more time to digest so thats the reason for indigestion if we drink water during eating food, one more thing if you are meat eater atleast give a gap of half an hour after eating it hope this trick helps us for indigestion problems

Hello Shankes! Thank you for this post! I never knew, or perhaps, am just so not updated with news or research findings.... I find your discussion really informative. I might try to look up for it online for more info. But, this really alarms me since I am fund of drinking water while eating, and often I do experience indigestion. Perhaps, this is one of the causes! Am so glad to have read this post. Thank you for sharing. Happy mylotting!

I know that water should be taken before eating not while eating because it makes your tummy full and digestion would be difficult. Sometimes I forgot it so what I do I only sipping water while eating. Water is also good alternative if you are not full.

I have never heard that. I have heard it is bad, and perhaps this is what you are speaking of, to drink cold water with your meal. However warm water is supposed to help you digest your food. Is that what you weretalking about?

This is informative, thanks for sharing one. I think there's really some correlation about getting indigestion and drinking in between meals. It's got to be the enzyme that produces acid to digest food. If you drink water in between meals the enzyme is sort of like diluted from the water intake that causes indigestion. my one cent.

Though I have heard of this from many, I am not able to avoid this .Most of the doctors are advising to not to take water unless we feel of excessive thirsty.I tried few days and failed in that and also I am not able take much food without water. But I should make it familiarize .Thanks for the useful information.

thanks for the info. I have been drinking water with my meals my whole life. When you go into a restraunt...first thing they bring you is water. I actually don't have any indigestion problems at all. I mean what you say seems to make sense but I never heard of this.

Thanks for the post, we're learning from each other, in my case everytime I eat there must be a hot soup or coffee or whatever hot drinks and drink something cold after eating. I never think it's a bad habit though am not used to do it.

hello shankes! Yes, I also read one article about "Proper drinking of water"..in fact one health advice said that we have to drink at least two glasses of water 30 minutes before or after each meal to aid proper digestion. It is not proper to drink water after meal because important nutrients will be washed away.

ya we must not drink a lot of water while drinking. I think this is because while u drink a lot of water it dilutes the digestion enzymes that are required to digest the food we eat.So it slows down the digestion and may cause digestion problems.I believe that it is also told in Ayurveda.
