All of us readers find authors that we love and feel the need to read all of their books! I'm curious as to who your favorite authors are? Any particular reason why they're your favorite? My two favorites are Jane Green and Kate Pepper. I read mostly chick lit - so Jane Green is my favorite "chick lit" author. Kate Pepper write great mysteries!

I have so many favorite authors but if I had to pick my most favorite authors, I would pick Nora Roberts, Christine Feehan, Susan Wiggs, Robyn Carr, Linda Lael Miller, Diana Palmer, Joan Johnston, Mercedes Lackey, and Anne McCaffrey. All these authors are the best at what they do and they are able to draw the reader into their world in order to keep them fascinated and interested. I am a reader who likes the paranormal, medieval, suspense, Scottish, Irish, contemporary, and western theme romances. I also like to read fiction. Christine Feehan is one of my favorites that I have discovered in the last year or so. She captured my interest in what she writes and how she captivates her readers.

My favourite author without a doubt is Stephen King. I love horror stories and King is the best Horror writer on the planet. I have read almost all of his books, some of my favourites would be Carrrie and Insomnia. I have read many of his books over and over again and they never get old.

I started a similar discussion and I can say I love to read, I love books --but I cant choose a favorite author over another --I read several series and they have me hooked... I read paranormal romance and choose Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Jacquelyn Frank, Kathryn Smith, Gena Showalter, the list can go on since I have at least 7 or 8 series I am into let alone the stand alone books as well!! LOL When it comes to historical romance, I would choose Kathleen Woodiwiss, but she passed away a couple years ago so we wont be getting any more books by her... she will be missed severly for historical romance readers!! Happy mylotting and happy reading!!

Hi Jennlk, I read so much and have many favourite authors so it's difficult to pin it down. In the last few years though my must have books are by Douglas Kennedy, each so different that they cannot be defined by a certain genre of fiction. In some he has written from a woman's persepective and has been completely convincing but my favourite of his books remains 'The Big Picture'. When I'm in the mood for a psychological thriller I love the books by Nikki French.

I like Mercedes Lackey and Margaret Weissman the most. Thank you to everyone who responded... I've never heard of these authors but will be giving them a try.

Hi there! I am not greatly into chick lit myself. I love Paulo Coelho books. They can take you on a journey where you look deep within yourself and begin to question who you are. His tales are sometimes magical and help me to escape reality! I also love the books by Bill Bryson, the travel writer. He has such a crass sense of humour that I laugh out loud. I wish I had more time to read!
