Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji, I think, my hubby has only one slogan, living natural would lead to good health. We should never go against naturte, sleep while it gets night and leave the bed befor sun rises. Take food as required. Maintain balance among all three 'life juices' in the body. There are certain things must be taken out like sweat, urine, stool etc and alongwith oxygen we must sallow anger as well. This will make one healthy. "EARLY TO BED EARLY TO RISE, MAKES HEALTHY, WEALTHY AND WISE" May God bless You and have a great time.

Hi :) Many of the older people I know truly ARE gold. They are a source of strength and wisdom that only comes with experience and time. Karen

Hello my friend. Your husband's ideas are very wise. It is good if we listen to our mind, our body, and our spirit and give each of these what they most need at any given time. They all work together in unison to keep our overall health at an optimum level. And my mother and father used to tell us the same...early to bed; early to rise... Much wisdom in that saying. Have a blessed day. Karen

Hi Karen! You have mentioned correctly about exercise and eating nutritious food. I feel that if we go to early morning walk at dawn, we get lots of oxygen and it helps improve our lung power and other bodily systems.

Hello Deepak. You are correct in knowing that exercise improves out lung function, and that plus a great diet, also keeps our heart and mind healthy. Once established as a firm habit, living healthy is actually fun! Karen

You're right, Deepak. In many senses, beyond the figurative wealth of good health, there is also the ability it allows us to earn a living, take care of our homes, and be there for loved ones! Karen

I try to get as much fresh air as i can and i love mushroom extracts. Reshi mushrooms actually help me sleep less and feel better. My diet is my main way of staying healthy, i'm raw vegan and eat only organic food, so tons of nutrients without any chemicals.

Hello Mrakobesie...I had no idea of all the health properties reshi mushrooms, so I learned something new from you :) I have heard of those who eat only raw food. From where do you get the needed proteins in your diet? I have been curious about this and would love your input. Karen

Hi Elite. You have some good ideas here. Reducing stress is very important to keeping healthy. It is the root cause of many diseases, in fact. And yes, healthy eating and enough sleep are also key to maintaining our health. Thank you for the good suggestions! Karen

Sleeping! It may seem funny but getting the proper amount of rest is essential to being able to function and just get through the day and when your body is run down it affects your immune system.

I completely agree, Canellita. I have read that it is while we sleep that the mind and body do most of its "healing." One just cannot function properly without enough rest/sleep. Thank you for sharing that. Karen

We should try our best to make us healthy. Everday we have a lot of work to deal with. With times past we will not stonger than before. When you find you should eat healthy foods or medical it will be a litte late. But it is no problem. If you try to exercise you will be fine.

Hello Kevin...exercise is indeed important in keeping us healthy. The human body was designed to move and work and rest and play. A balance of those...and then paying attention and tending to health problems as they arise, is a good policy. Thank you for your insights. Karen

You need to pay attention to your mental health, we are surrounded by so much violence in the press, in our sports, in our games. This can have a very bad effect on our mental outlook.

Hi Pat. Violence seems so much more prevalent now than when I was growing up. It saddens me to see this trend increasing. It does depress one to absorb too much of it, especially via the news reports! Karen

Besides exercise, and eating healthy, I also supplement my diet with Vitamins, and minerals, and herbs. I also believe that it is important to get away from using toxic cleaning products, because they affect your health in different ways.

I think the brain has to be excercised too. That means reading good books, going to museums and art galleries, take a walk through your city really looking at what man made. There are so many things you can do about it. But you also must excercise the other half of yourbrain. And that means learning hoe to be tender, learning to love, accepting other people and learn to respect them. The body is a whole: not just tripes and muscles. I believe in putting all our body to work fir the best. Take care

Hi Marguicha...What a wonderful point you've made. Like you, I believe that mind, body, and spirit all need to be cared for. Excercising the brain, learning new things, caring for others...all add to our overall health and can even ward off diseases such as Alzheimers. Karen

To me the two most important habits that i consider healthy are # Eating right and eating good # Regular exercising If people follow these two strategies, i'm sure they are going to stay healthy till their end. 2 other important factors that can keep people healthy are healthy thinking and a disciplined lifestyle. Karen do share with us your opinion also

Hi Div...we're in accord on that then :) I have watched as my mother, now 86, has worked hard, eaten right, gained wisdom, and practiced healthy thinking her whole life. Now, in her golden years, she is still a vital human being, as was my dad, who passsed away at age 81, still vital till the end. They've set a great example of how to "live well" for all of their children. Karen

hiya, well not smoking (any more) and drinking lots of water. some of the above responses mentioned psychological health, which is linked to the physical anyway, so i think taking time to relax and not allowing myself to get stressed is pretty important too. jb

Hi Jb. Kudos to you on quitting the smoking habit. I know how difficult that can be! I agree that our spiritual and psychological well-being are very much connected with our physical health. All three of those things interact with each other for the good or the bad. Reducing stress, or learning to deal in positive ways with it, as you said, is crucial. Karen

Hello to you, and welcome to MyLot. You are right. If we do not take good care of our health we become run down or ill. Quality of life is then lowered by a lot, as it becomes hard to do those things that are important to us. Thank you for your response here. Karen

Getting good rest and regulated sleeping hours is extremely important for good health in my opinion. Giving yourself adequate rest boosts your serotonin levels.. and sleep is restorative for the brain..sleep actually also helps to consolidate our memory with information and facts we've learnt during the day!

Hi Mike. These are some very interesting facts about sleep. I know how awful I feel when I go days without getting enough. You've helped me understand why. This is something I've been working on lately...so far; so good. Karen
