Are you a television watcher/viewer?

Mostly there are people that have the time to watch the television shows that they want to watch on a daily basis, and then you have folks that don't really have the time to watch any shows. I usually watch the shows I like to watch while I'm on the computer. My computer desk in next to our television set within 2 feet. So a lot of time, I'm multitasking while I'm doing something online that will bring some additional income into my wallet/or bank account what about you?

I used to listen to whatever was on TV while I worked online. I do hear what my husband has on TV right now, as well as the older shows my son is watching on my laptop. I can get interested, sometimes. Really, we do not get the kinds of shows that interest me, and I do not feel like putting more money into something so intangible as a television show.

Thanks for the best response. In order to get my favorite channels, I have to pay over $50 per month. We had a time when we could not pay our bills and so that had to go. I felt like instead of watching other people do crafts and home improvements it would be more appropriate to cancel cable and get up and actually do some of the stuff myself.

GardenGerty, That is such a profound and logical answer. i wouldn't want to put money into something intangible as well. Afterall, the folks that made the show are primarily making more money by we watching the show, based upon their ratings. I do like the sitcoms and reality shows though. I guess it's a way of escape for me to ponder upon my own imagination a bit.

I don't have cable or a TV antenna (it's a longer, more complicated story), so my TV has been off for many many months now... I watch one TV show on a daily basis, as that TV station has online streaming. I'm watching other programs I like (sports, some science programs) online, as there are many sites that allow live online streaming. I also download the movies I like from the Internet, so there aren't much things I miss by not watching TV.

That's right, my computer is my TV screen, but I only have very few shows I'm interested in.

So in essence your computer is your television screen, that's cool. I can relate, as I watch some shows I've missed on hulu .com from time to time.

I used to have a television that was in view while I was on the computer. I really do miss that. I am looking to find another one sometime soon. I have seen sets for only $20 at the Goodwill, but they are really old. So who knows how long they would last, although $20 is really inexpensive. So what I normally do, is watch the tv shows that I like in the morning and then go online around noon. In the evenings, there are only two nights that I have shows that I like to watch, so I just take a break on those nights. I do normally have my tv on while I'm on the computer, and I just listen to it from the other room. But I will have another television set nearby the computer sometime in the near future.

I think it can, just like just about everything else. A number of years ago my younger brother had an assignment for school to turn off the tv for an entire week, and our whole family was required to get involved. At first it was torture, but by the end I really didn't miss it.

The sets from the thrift stores are really old yes, but you probably won't find a better price for a set, not even at a garage sell, unless your family or friends are moving into a larger home and are thinking about giving so things away.

yea, i do that too... when you're a parent you have to make the most of your time...even at times I leave the TV on, I am still attending to 2 or 3 other things, like running the laundry machine, boiling something for dinner, then checking my emails!

Having an online job like I do, and just generally enjoying the Internet and MMO's, I rarely watch television. When I do, it's typically just while eating a meal with the family or on the rare occasion where I see a particularly interesting show. I used to have the television set up in the same room as the computers, and would watch while I worked, but since I've moved I haven't even bothered to hook it back up. I just don't miss it. The last time I really spent a lot of time watching TV was when I had my wisdom teeth removed and watched nearly every episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Which is still the best Trek, hands down.

I do watch some television programs with interest.I think it is wise to watch television while working on some sites to earn money. I watch comedy programs, cricket, boxing, news and other self improvement programs.

Hello, I have Television at my home and when I dont have my computer, I used to watch a lot of TV, but from the time I got my computer, most of my time is spent in doing work on computer. After getting my internet connection and joining mylot, I give much lesser time to TV, only watching some very selected comedy serials and cricket matches when they are played as I am very fond of watching cricket. Happy MyLotting.

I don't watch daytime tv, though the kids usually watch some cartoons until I kick them outside. But I usually turn it on about five pm and watch until I go to bed. I know, it's not a good habit but it's how my husband grew up, watching all the time. And I have not been able to break him of the habit. If I don't like the show he's watching, I read or do other things. I get to watch what I want when he's at work but otherwise, he has possession of the remote!

i am a great fan of television...i watch more of the reality shows rather than the serials..serials are somewhat boring..but reality shows have a great sense of excitement in them..moreover news channels are doing 2 in 1 job they provide news as well as entertainment to....

thats actually not a bad idea. butting your computer and tv next to each other helps you kill two birds with one stone. i might actually rearrange my space that way

i dont watch a whole lot of tv but i do like to watch the history channel and a few other shows. i like mostly non fiction shows (like the antique roadshow and history detectives) i don't watch comedies because i think they are a waste of time.

I used to watch television when I was a child. But nowa days I dont get any time to do so. Yes, but sometimes I do get a bit of time to watch Television and I generally watch comedy shows which give me a bit of relaxation from the stress.

To be strict i'm not a television watcher at all. i don't like watch TV and feel it very boring. i can read every news ,listen to music, play games , watch TV programmes on the internet . The main reason i like computer more than TV is that you can choose what you want to see or listen or do on the net while you just can sit there waiting for what TV shows you.
