How do they choose their Victims?

I am just wondering, how do trolls choose their victims? I used to think that it was something like that someone had a major disagreement with somebody, and then decided to become a troll and stalk the person, or that perhaps people who are outspoken and/or participate in quite a few controversial discussions may gain a troll due to the fact that some childish loser might disagree with much of what they say and decide to stalk them as a troll, things like that. However, I as was browsing through the boards on and off today, I noticed that a particular person on my friend's list appears to have gained a troll. I know I can not mention names of other users in my discussion so I will say that this is a person that I think many of us are familiar with and like very much. For the most part from what I have seen this person posts mainly silly and fun or mushy and lovable discussions. She also posts a few general type discussions, perhaps about cell phones or road trips she took, etc. She replies to discussions with friendly replies, silly replies or a bit of both. I have not seen her ever say anything that could be considered extremely offensive. I have rarely seen her post or respond to a controversial discussion if ever. This person is from Texas, she is Irish and she is friendly. I am sure many of you know who I mean by now. I can not imagine why anyone would want to harass her, yet she seemed to have gained a troll. So tell me, how do trolls choose their victims?

Good day betsyraeduke, I think I have been one of their victim. Cause now I look at my reputation it became 93/100 before it was 94/100. Is my feeling could be right? But why should be there are people like this here in MyLot? What are their reason why they are doing that .

I can not say if it was a troll who caused your reputation rating to go down a point or not, it could be, or it might not be. I do not know, since its only one point, its hard to say what caused it. I hope it wasn't a troll. As for a troll's reason for doing anything, who knows, they are just pathetic losers with nothing better to do I guess. Good luck to you and have a lovely night....or day.

I am not an expert on trolls. As far I know, I have never been a victim of one as yet, fortunately. The only way I can tell you for sure that you can tell that you are the victim of a troll is when the troll makes it obvious. For example, in the case of my friend that I mention in this discussion and a few other friends I have here and on the other sites, the troll made themselves very obvious by posting nasty, flaming remarks to the person in their discussions and nothing but nasty, flaming remarks, and/or they start several discussions which are nothing more then rude and nasty posts which are obviously made toward their victim/s.

I think a lot of trolls pick their victims by cruising discussions and finding someone that they don't agree with their views or opinions so they start going after them. It becomes something of a goal to see how nuts they can make the person. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

That is hard to figure. I guess I have been lucky cause I haven't really experienced that. But I also don't spend a lot of time here. I would guess a person just picks some person because of what they say, but who knows. I think the whole thing is silly.
