What do you do when you are depressed?

Do you get depressed very easily?Do you sometimes feel strangely happy about being depressed?I know its sounds very very strange but some time i do feel happy about being distressed. what do you do when you are depressed.As for me i talk to my best friend.He cheers me up. Have you aver taken those antidepressant drugs ever in your life?

When i am depressed I talk to my pastor about things and that helps me a lot. Sometimes my best poetry is written when I am depressed. I have been on antidepressants at one point in my life, but it actually made me feel worse so I fight it on my own now.

Killing yourself isn't the answer! It will only cause your family unbearable pain. Try to remember what makes you happy and lifts your spirit - listening to music, talking to a friend, reading a good book, taking a shower & pampering yourself, etc. This may sound funny, but I sometimes find it uplifting to listen to foreign music, especially in languages I don't understand. If you feel you need therapy, don't hesitate to go for it. It might be the best thing you ever did. I don't know if you are religious, and I do not wish to offend you in the least, but speaking from personal experience, praying and most especially reading psalms (book in the Bible) helps me. Try not to cut yourself off from people - you will probably feel inclined to do so, but this is the time in which you need them the most. I know it's hard - I've been there. But there are people out there who can help you, and things that you can do to help yourself. It CAN be overcome. Praying for you and wishing you all the best! =)

i get depressed all the time..i really don't understand whether i am really feeling bad because it happens so often..well when i get depressed i call my boyfriend-my one and only lifeline..he is like my medicine..i feel happy when i hear his voice..i know he will support me always..i remember that time i did bad in one of our practical exams in college in the 3rd semester and i was so upset..but i came home called my boyfriend ..cried to him for like 20 minutes and voila..i felt happy and good again..so its kind of silly on my side..even when i have fights with my mom..i only talk to my boyfriend about it..even when i am having a stomach ache..i just need my boyfriend..so i guess thats my story..lol

Hi suparnodatta, Some times I get depressed, it critical situations I usually get depressed. What I normally do is take a relaxation by sitting idle. Being calm and doing nothing is my first step. Then I hear some music , chat with friends that decreases the depression more. They boost me up. Then, I walk alone and see natural places like river, garden that too help me a lot. Happy Mylotting.
