What Do You Do When You Forget Your Cellphone?

The one day I really need to have my cellphone with me, and I forget it! I think my cat knocked it out of my purse in the middle of the night. I had an appointment, and was going to give the phone to my husband, so I could call him from the office to come get me, when the appointment was over. Unfortunately, my phone was not in my bag, so I ended up giving him my watch instead, since he does not have a watch. I could always get the time from the office where I was, but he was going to go walk around outside for an hour or so. So it worked out OK, and I didn't need the phone afterall. Good thing I wasn't stuck somewhere where I'd need to call a cab, or something. What do you do when you forget your phone, only to realize you really needed it? How do you improvise?

Well I will always borrow a cell phone from any stranger for a single local call if it is really urgent. Most of them oblige happily as I have done in many cases.

I am not yet to that point with my phone. I am getting close, though. It is just as bad to have it with you, then not turn it on. I did that one day last week and people were trying to get ahold of me. I was training a new employee and I guess I just shut it off. I think you came up with a reasonable solution. I hope the appointment was beneficial.

Hello there! Forgeting the cellphone has never been and I guess it will never be such a major problem. I mean, I do forget it, but wherever I go I will find public phones, even if I have to walk a bit. They're all around, and they work just like a cellphone... except that you cannot carry them around. I don't rely too much on my mobile. I don't use it oftenly, anyways. I use it to store the numbers of people, and if I forget my mobile and can't call somebody because I can't remember the number... Well, I just don't get angry. It happens. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

If I'm in a store or an office, I'd ask to use their phone or if I saw someone that has a cell phone, I'd ask them if I could use it to call so and so and if they want, they could dial the number for me to show that it's not long distance. If all else fails then I'd use a pay phone.

If I know the phone number, I will just find the nearest phone box & use that or I will just wait till I get home. However, If I was in your position, I would just arrange with the other person to meet somewhere at a certain time.

Thats actually never been an issue for me since I have never owned a cell phone...even if I did though I doubt it would be an issue since I always have change in my purse and usually a phone card with minutes on it..

Hello danishcanadian! I do not really feel comfortable whenever I leave my cell phone at home. Though I can get through the day without my cell phone, I can't stop thinking about whether someone called or has sent text messages. If I get to realize that my cell phone is not in my bag and I am still near the house, I would probably go back home to get the phone. But if I am already in the office, then never mind.

There's not much that can be done once you're out of the house. When I forget my cell and really need to make a call to someone, I borrow a friend's but if I don't remember the number I need to call, I'll have to rush home. I think its possible to survive without a cellphone though.

I don't worry about when I forget it but I do start thinking about all the problems that might happen and I won't have a cell to call for help. A lot of people can't leave without their cell phone on them. I had a friend who drove back to his house (20 minutes) to get it so he could have it, he didn't use it but he had to have it.

I have forgot my cell phone a few times, but it was okay a I wasn't gone to long so I really didn't need it then. Since the cell phone is my only phone, I do everything I can not to forget it. My son told me to always take it with me, s if I have a flat tire or something else happens, I will be able to call him. The cell phone, is really a part of my life as I don't know what I would do without it. I can't live witout it. The reason I don't have a land line is I just got tired of all telemarketing calls I got on it, so I just decided to cancel it, and use my cell phone. At least I avoid the telemarketeers, and that is a good thing. Have a gdoo day, and happy mylotting.

I'd feel somewhat panicky whenever i leave home without my phone. Like when stuff gets boring, i won't have a diversion. Cell phone is really essential for me. It's not only because of the calls or text messages i'd be missing but emails and news as well.

I will go home and get back if I am near the home. If I am very far then I will use the public telophone booth to call. I have no choice because we cannot call a person to bring my mobile by wasting their time to get it for me. I will somehow manage but till to this date I had never forgot my mobile, it happen say some 10 times are so. But it did not affect my work..

I dont rely alot on my cell phone. More often than not my cell is left sitting on top of the computer desk or the fridge. In the winter I make sure to have it with me because i drive a fair distance to work and if anything happens i can call for help...otherwise I'm stuck hoping someone will stop and help me! Other than the emergencies...I just make do with out using the cell phone - I'll call from work or wait til i get home to make the phone call or from my parents.

On the rare instances when I forget it, I go back to get it if possible. I've only had that happen a couple of times as I don't carry mine in my purse but in my pocket. It's become a habit to check for keys, sunglasses, and cell phone before walking out the door!

I freak out. My cellphone is usually attatched to my hip. The motto is like American Express, I don't leave home without it. When I do, it absolutely makes me miserable. I'm going to have to get over this childish attitude that I have about my phone.
