Write. Each day, write freely about what most bothers you. Don't edit yourself. Don't worry about spelling or grammar. Just write! Write five things you are most grateful for each day. A gratitude journal can help you begin seeing life as half full rather than half empty. Write letters to friends and family. Write notes to yourself, encouraging and upbuilding yourself as if you were talking to a much beloved friend. Write letters to your children, to be opened at various stages in their life. Write cards. Write postcards. Writing can help you reach within yourself and outside to the world around you.

Good ideas. I've got a cousin who has panic attacks and at times cannot even leave her house. I feel so bad for her because she misses out on so much.

I don't know. I do know that she avoids most contact with people and it seems to be worse at some times than at others. I don't really understand what she goes through, but I would think that her life must be very lonely.

I have a problem with anxiety. It all started a few years ago when I got rear ended on the way home. I got hit right before pulling into the driveway! I saw him coming, I said to myself, "what is he doing? he better swerve around me or he's going to hit me!". Well, needless to say, he did. Now when I drive I always look in the rearview mirror praying that the car behind me gets stopped in time. I also have a major problem with traffic lights. I am going a certain speed (speed limit) and I'm always afraid I'm going to run a red light and get hit. Anxiety also gets me in other ways. When I go shopping I always wake up the next morning trying to figure out how much I spent and worry A LOT whether the bank will call and tell me something bounced. -- even though the night before the check book is balanced properly. I am not taking anything for my anxiety, pretty much because I don't have any insurance. However, hopefully my husband can get a promotion and we can afford health insurance. Some days are better then others.

It sounds like you are under a lot of stress. The insurance situation that so many people are in is really unfortunate -- helpful treatment shouldn't be only for those with money. I hope things get better for you.

I write. I write about what's hurting me or how I feel. I also talk to my best friend. She understands what I am going through...we work on our problems together.

Those both sound like good ways to work things out...
