So this is really weird... My boyfriend and i are both mylot users, he got my totally sucked into it a few weeks ago and i am totally addicted. Well, we have just recently been running into a slight problem. When he comes up and visits for a few days, we have to remembr to log out of our accounts when we get off the computer, lest the other one go on, and accidently be logged into the wrong account. Occasioanly this often results in random times when we are plodding along through my lot, posting and responding, and all of a sudden we are told we have to log in again. No big deal. But here's the weird part. Alittle while ago my boyfriend signed off of mylot and i hopped on the computer to check my emails and my my lot and what not. I had to log into mylot obviously, went through, responded to some responses on my discussions, made responses to a few other discussions, and was browsing for any other ones to repsond to. When i do this, i open up a bunch of topics i am interestedi in reading and possibly responding to in multiple tabs on my browser. Well, i had a bunch of these open, then had to go check on dinner in the oven. I came back after a quick trip to the kitchen, typed out a response to a topic and posted it. After i posted it and was going to shut tht window down, i noticed my boyfriends avatar on the page that was open. First, i thought to myself..oh weird..he replied to the same discussion i did (this doesn't happen often as we have differnt interests on here) But then i realized, my post was under his name! Somehow, with out him logging in, or logging me off, when i clicked to respond to the message, it switched to his account instead of mine! Anyone else who shares a computer with another mylotter ever have this problem? I guess he and i are just going to have to be more careful about checking which account is listed at the top of the page before we post.

LOL....but I don't have sign in trouble! no one else in my whole family does mylotting but me!

LoL...kids can be a riot sometimes. How long did it take to convince your daughter it was him, not you? That is too funny. I have been tempted at times to put up a funny status or posting on myspace or facebook when a friend doesn't sign off after using my computer for a bit...but i have been good and not done it. Granted i would never put anything hurtful...just something funny.

But it posted under his account, is listed as a response he made on his profile, not on mine.

I have posted under hubby's name before. I think the problem is that you may have checked a box that says "Keep me signed in for two weeks" or something like that.It is hard to not get mixed up when two share a computer. I know of at least one other couple that has cross posted in the last month.

i have never seen that box anywhere on this site before though...the only one i ever see is the "public computer" box, which might do something to aleiviate the problem as it would probably auto log you out after a set time...but then that would be a pain as it would log me out in the middle of a mylot session. The only thing we have found that helps to keep this from happening is to clear the internet cache frequently...but we always forget LoL. glad to know we are not the only ones this has happened to...i just had to let him know that he might get some responses to a comment he didn't post to and be weirded out about it LoL

Hello, Do you both use the same computer log in and out? Mylot will caught your IP address if you use the same computer for two users... it will happen like this, and it is normal. One user on one computer... other wise mylot will think you are cheating. On other hand if you both use different computer then it might something wrong with connection or computer. Try to clean up cookies and dish as well. Hope this helps

I am certain that is not corrent, i am sorry to inform you. The guidlines clearly state that multiple users (such as family memebers, or in my case my boyfriend who stays with me on occasion) CAN use the same computer, they just have to have seperate mylot accounts. So when he is here visiting for a few days, he uses my computer, i his when i am at his place. It was just a weird glitch with the log out thing, just wondering if it had happened to anyone else.

hmmm....i had this problem before with my old account. I was at my friends house when i started mylotting after hers, and then luckily i didn't punch in to submit the response as i check the profile again and it wasn't mine. so, i almost got screwed there. i decided to delete private, i mean all parts including cookies. that way it would start refresh and not stick to the one who uses the his/her account first. i never went back to her house because same thing might happen. since you're sharing it with your bf, better delete cookies first before you exchange use of mylot.

yeah, i am trying to remember to do that more frequently to try and keep this form happening agian in the future. But i don't want to turn it off completely in my settings, as i use many sites and like having it remember stuff so i don't have to type it in every time.

Hello fruitcakeliz, This hasn't happened to me but it is possible. The MyLot servers are known to be weak and can have weird glitches and defects. When I add to many interests at a time they tend to swap there pictures... For example I add a dog as an interest and for it's picture a scorpion appears which aperently was next to it. Maybe it's the same with account avatars and posts. Cheers! Thok

hmmm..that IS weird,or maybe it is just a new hybrid of dog none of us have ever heard about! As long as it doesn't start happening all the time, i can deal with it. I understand all technology has it's glitches

Yes I had that problem a couple years ago when my Daughter was still on here Really you should clean the Cookies after your other half as been on, even though he signed out it will log him back in when a new Page comes up, so to solve that just clean the Cookies and it will not happen

I haven't had this problem yet, but it's mostly due to my husband not being an active member on here. LOL However, I use a different browser when I mylot...just in case, as I wouldn't want to accidentally post from his account, or him from mine (yeah, that'll be the day LOL). One problem I do seem to have on here is posting a picture in a response when I have multiple tabs open for mylot. The last time it happened I took extra care to make sure it had uploaded in the discussion it was intended for, but it didn't show up in the response after I had hit the submit button. I suspected it would end up in the following discussion I replied to as it was the next one in line. Who knew I'd be right? Anyway, I tried my best to explain what had happened, but I don't think the original poster believed me. They thought I had made a mistake. Oh well, it's not like I was making up a story. I just told them the truth. Hopefully, it won't ever happen to them or they'll see I wasn't fibbing after all. Happy mylotting!

LoL, yeah, computers can do silly things sometimes. I think i understand what you mean. That could be embarassing/problematic as you might post a totally in-appropriate picture to a topic! I will have to remember that might happen in the future.

No, I don't have that problem, as I live alone, so no one here to share my computer. It sure does sound confusing though what happened to you and your account, but then I am confused anyway. I have seen that on other sites where you ip address is locked. That is probably what is happening here in mylot. Since they have it on record what your ip address is, then when you both log on without logging the other one out at first, it seems to be confused as to which one of you is really in mylot. I hope you can get it resolved though. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

we are just taking more care to notice who is logged in before every post. That is the weird part though, he was logged out, then i signed in and even responded to a few discussions with no problem, under my name, then all of a sudden i opened up this one discussion and it decided to make me him *lol*

I somewhat understand the problem, see, it's regarding the 'Remember Me' facility based on the Cookie on the browser, if you can using Firefox, you can change your browser setting to let Firefox clean all cookies when closing Firefox, then the next time when you open it, you are on the totally fresh world. Firefox: Tools -- Options -- go to Privacy tab, and change the setting of Keep Cookie until to "I close Firefox". I think there's some similar facility in IE, you can check it out by yourself. good luck.

I don't use firefox, but i do know how to do that in IE, except i don't want to LoL, cause then it won't keep ANY of my cookies, and i have a lot of websites i visit on a regular basis that i like the convenience of staying logged into since my cookies are enable. But thenks for the suggestion!

Dear Liz, Oh yes, it happened exactly to me too. My brother will drop by at my place on Sunday. He too is a myLotter. Since he wants to go in, so I logged out. He managed to check his e-mail, browse thru the stock market page, response to some discussion at myLot. So, when he go off, it was logged out and I logged in...nicely typed and send out..then I saw on top..is his not mine..I noticed it happen when we leave the page idle for awhile, the system just went back to the earlier logged in...sigh- I hope it do not happen again....coz it might be bad in the sense that if my brother is responding to my topic of discussion, and the logged in is backed to mine, it is weird that I response to my own topic of discussion... All the best and do keep in touch!
