I'm going to college in two weeks and I don't know what to do without my dog!

Help! I'm sure I'm not the only one that this has happened to. In two weeks I'm moving to a different state to attend college. And leaving my baby behind! I can't have anything other than fish in my room, but I don't want fish. Every night I sleep with my dog. She's my constant companion. Anyway, to those of you have been separating from your pet because of school or a move, please share what you did. I know I'll miss my dog terribly.

When i moved from my parents house in nebraska to the state of maine many years ago, i had to leave behind our dog Belle, and a couple of cats whom i was deeply attatched to, but i wasn't going to bring them with me as it would have been expensive, and they were family animals, not just mine. My parents emailed me pictures of them quite often and i always asked about whem when we talked on the phone. It was so wonderful to see them again whenever i went home to visit. Unfortunately the family dog, Belle, passed away a few months ago and it will be really strange to visit my parents house next time and not have her come running up to me looking for belly rubs. I would assume you are leaving your dog with your parents while you are way at school? Make sure to take a nice picture of her with you, and have them email you pics on occasion. Just think, it won't be long until your first long break from school and you will see her/him again!

Yes, I do understand that, and I will leave her at home when I go to school. I will definitely take your advice to heart and take a nice picture of her to take with me as well as ask my parents to keep me updated as she has some health problems. I am sorry about your Belle. I know that when my dog passes on I will miss her terribly. I've had the experience with several other dogs as well. Thanks for the advice!
