Social Security office phone number?

Does anyone know the number to the United States Social Security office. A number that I can talk to a person. I need to know if my employer is sending in the taxes there taking from me. Someone in the office mentioned that they think Im an independent contractor but Im not, and Ive had tax taken out of my check. If anyone could help it would be great.Thank you.
