A New Day After the Storm

When we are facing storms or typhoons we usually wonder and say when will this storm stop and we even pray for the storm to stop. And after the passing of the storm, the sun shines once again brightly as the beginning of a new day. We saw the devastation the storm had brought but the bright new day gives us hope that we can start again. The storm has passed, a brand new day is awaiting us. We sometimes don't like the trials and storms in life. We want them to stop. We pray for it to stop. But nothing happens, it's still there. Why don't we just look beyond the trials of life and hope for the new day after the storm. Why don't we shift our focus from the trials to the brighter day awaiting us. I know it's sometimes difficult, but with God, our families and friends supporting us, it is attainable and possible. There is always hope beyond the storms of life. Share with me your ideas or experiences regarding this topic. What is your ideas, outlook or experiences regarding the storms of life?

Not until I'd face the greatest storm in my life I realized that I am so much blessed. What I've learned is that all the pain, suffering and hardship are graces. I realized that I am nothing and can do nothing without Him. Way back then, I thought that I can do everything without HIM but I was wrong. God stripped off everything that makes me feel secure. HE takes everything that I hold so dear. I almost give up, you know the pain was so much to bear. But there's one thing that I never forget, that is to PRAY. Until the storm has passed, I was never the same person again. I've seen what is really important in life. And I am grateful to God for loving me and showing me the way. As sinner as I am.

Very well said and beautiful response careguarden. Truly you're right, suffering and hardships can be blessings in the long run if we see God's purpose in doing it. He let it happen to mold our character and our life as a whole. Sometimes, God allows these things to happen to let us know what really is the most important in our life. Sometimes we rely on material things, job, fortune and power as our security in life until they all disappear in a moment. After that, we come back to God and during that time we understand that it is only HIM we needed mostly. everything is temporal. Thanks for sharing.

In our place storms are common occurrences. I say maybe most of us got use to it. People don't evacuate. They build their houses stronger so it will be ready to face any storm. We knew what to stock inside our pantry, and things we need in worse cases. Some people have already bought their own banca (a boat) so transportation and travel will not be affected. We are not surprise by the storms anymore... we are ready to face them. Problems of life like the storms should not surprise us, we should be ready to face them. And life goes on whether there is storm or none.

I lived in Florida for several years and fortunately I only experienced the edge of a couple of hurricanes. However one summer I did take some time off and go down south where Hurricane Andrew devastated the region some five or so years prior. There were trees in the everglades that still were stripped of their branches; they were just bare posts sticking up from the ground. I heard of another hurricane that decided to park itself just off the west coast of Florida for three days before finally going off to die. Eventually that is what these kinds of storms do; wander off, peter out, and dissipate in the atmosphere. I joke sometimes that "patients (patience) are for doctors" but that is what it takes. Nothing is really permanent unless we make it so ourselves.

Good for you, you haven't really experienced the destruction brought by hurricane. We, in our area, are used to storms. Storms and their effects aren't new to us. Nothing is really permanent in this life except "change." How about the storms in life?

I always believe there's always sunshine after the rain and rainbows after every storm and trials will be solved and there's always happy endings to every problem. Although in our province, we seldom get hit by storms but even then the effects of the storms still includes us like heavy rains, winds and other ill effects. And I alwys like the scenery after the storm which are, the earth becomes cooler, there's a calming effect really and the surroundings are a little bit fresher when the grass peeks out from mud or those trampled upon will rise again.

Storms of life is just an imagery for describing about human's life. When we're facing a problem, or even a bad experience in our life, we'll say it's a storm in our life. I believe that there's no one who never face such storm of life. Based on my own experiences, when i face such problem, i'll first praying to The God and asking for enlightment for finishing that problem. I need more power to find the solution and i also need to be patient, not to be mad. We all know that panic won't help anything. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Right dianmelydia. It's good you know where to look for help when you face problems in life. We really need strength from God to overcome trials in life. Our own strength sometimes fail. Happy mylotting too.

I see the storms or typhoons as something that you will have to face. You will have to start again and rebuild. Storms and typhoons are just another fact of life, they will happen.
