What did you get for your mom's birthday?

My mom's birthday is coming, I have been thinking about what I want to get for her, my mom is never like a big fan of anything, not a big shopper. I knew she wanted a hangbag, I might just do that and some cash for her own use. + cute birthday card. So what did you give for your mom's last birthday?

I gave up buying my mother anything. She is the pickiest woman around. She cuts out pictures from magazines and makes a scrapbook of what my dad is allowed to buy her....she is difficult. SO I made her a table runner. I played the whole "aren't you proud of me" 5 year thing so that she would have to like it..he he he... I am a quilter and I sewed and quilted the runner and it came out very nice and she has gotten compliments from her friends so I guess I did OK.

She's a little OCD so things need to be very specific. Very tiring at times...lol

Hi Mermaidivy Thanks for posting this discussion you just reminded me that I have to get a present for my Mom I forgot until I saw your post just now ! And I can relate to not knowing what to get for my Mom I will most likely take her out to dinner and buy her something from Bath And Body Works or from Bed Bath & Beyond she likes things like that.

I gave her a certificate to her favorite spa. She has been wanting this whole day treatment package. What i did was to save up for it, made reservations for her and surprised her on her birthday.

I dont know. I am thinking about this too. Because my mom's birthday is coming too. I know she wants a phone. But I dont know does which model she likes. Anyway, I wont ask her about this. I wanna give her a big surprise. However, if I give her something that she doesnt like. I am scared the surprise will be gone. Thinking the present for my mom is a hard job. Hope you can think of a big surprise for your mom.

I think she will like whatever you give her, mom likes to say no, you don't need to get me anything but they will feel very happy when she gets something nice from you for example, a handmade birthday card. I have made this to my mom efore and of course she gave me back a big smile then I realized I made a good choice of making a nice birthday card to her, maybe you can do that too :-)

I remind myself of my parents'birthdays every year.I usually drive home with my hubby and have a big meal with them.Sometimes i bought a birthday cake and some flowers. But my mom doesn't like those flashy without substance things. So as for mom,i often buy some clothes,or some products for health care.Last time i bought her an electric blood pressure machine. She has high blood pressure.i hope my parents have a nice life.bless them.

i dont know about you but i find it super hard to get anything for my mom. she has pretty much everything and is super fussy as to what she gets. last year, we got her a gift certificate for our local indigo (its a large bookstore chain here in canada).

On my mother's last birthday, I bought her some flowers and planted them in her yard for her. I wanted to get her a nice planter that I had seen in the store and some flowers for that, until I seen the price tag. A few times, through the years, I have taken my mom on vacations. She really enjoys that, because she doesn't get to travel much unless I take her. Other than that, I really struggle for gifts for her, because if she wants something she usually gets it herself. Unless, I can think of something unique that she needs but doesn't realize it. LOL

Hello mermaidivy, My mother loves scarfs and for this year birthday, I gave her two scarfs and a pair of comfort sandals for her. She doesn't like to ask from the children but as her children, we always try to make her happy. I am happy that she likes the gift.

Last year on my mother's birthday, I got her a small bouquet from the marketplace. my father isn't around so there's no one to get her flowers. She was pretty happy with up until it attracted fruit flies I think you should buy the handbag for her if you know she wants it or money for it if you don't know what style she wants.

I mother had been longing a new television, so my father and I shared the cost and bought her one on her birthday. I also gifted her a pen with her name written on it. A very small gift but she liked it as well. She has actually been writing with that pen ever since.
