The Growing Trend Part 2

I have seen so many members here creating categories with their own user names. If that is the case all the members(1,80,762) here at MYLOT will start to create their own categories which doesn't help the cause of MYLOT.So there will be 1,80,762 different categories.Whats the use?I have seen some oldies too involved in this. Again instead of a discussion under people it would be under a Mr/Miss/Miss XXX interest/category.Would you feel that is fine?I totally disagree with this. What about you?

I think it's totally wrong to do such a thing, not only is it conceited and self-absorbed, but I would seriously consider this as SPAM. That would be like having 180, 762! Totally disagree with this as well..

How did they imagine to create such a thing when its a public discussion forum?Hope some of them might have created by seeing others do it.But its a bad trend I think. It doesn't do good for the cause of MYLOT.

i had my own interest that i made when i had my old account but i haven't made one for this account. i started most of my discussions in that interest because it was my little world. and sometimes using an existing interest just doesn't make sense.

to lamb I do think that its okay for outstanding'members 'here to have their own interests and I applaud you 'for yours no matter what the others say. I am too'chicken to do this myself as my nature is very different. But you do outstanding discussions and have earned the'right 'to have you own interest, I just meant in my response 'not every one is suited to make their own interests'some'just get a little too big for their britches. I do applaud you.,dont listen to your detractors

myLot has allowed users the freedom create any categories they wish to that don't violate the guidelines; I don't think this freedom should be curtailed as it is one of the things that makes myLot unique. Are you sure that all or even most users WANT a category all about them? Only those with enough close myLot friends to have regular personal discussions with them will start such a category, and it'll be useful for them. I say live and let live, and don't create problems that don't really exist.

Why ? IS it just for the sake of some oldies like you it should be left alone? Put your thinking cap & re type again...thx

I have a discussion group dedicated to me. I didn't start it and am not even member of it. I am rather flattered to have it actually. We are allowed to start discussion groups and could if we wanted call them "grain of rice a...b...c..." etc. Perhaps naming a group after oneself is a little conceited, but does it really matter? Certainly it's not worth getting upset about.

I dont like this trend because if it grows it will make things so much moree complicated, and I feel its sort of show offey myself.I am like Emily Dickinsons poem about a nobody, I just want to be a nobody too. I dont need a lot of glory. I just like to mylot and enjoy mylot friends thats all I want to do.
