Just for fun...return back to your high school days...what was the type of clothes that everyone wore?? I was out on an outing yesterday with my kids, and our cousins, and some family... one of the girls is now in high school and her friend was with her, and they were talking about the clothes they want to get for the "back to school" shopping they are planning. Of course, my mom and I were part of the conversation talking about the fashions that we chose and what was popular at that time... my moms high school yrs were late 60's-1970... and they had hip huggers jeans pants, and tie tops and platform shoes..... and yes I could totally picture my mom in these clothes... I was late 80s... graduated 89'... and we had mini skirts, jeans, high top tennis shoes, and ratted hair that was as high as you could get it on your head... --I so would not go back to this stage in my life!!!!! So what did you wear?? what was the "fashion craze" era?? Did you like the clothes, did you wear them or did you just stay neutral and not wear those clothes??

Back in the day the fashion craze for my mum was high-heel shoes, punky clothes then fast-forward twenty years later for my generations fashion craze and it's back to the mini-skirts, Prada mobile-phones, DC, Etnies, or Converse shoes and most of the time bleach blonde hair for the males and the females.

i was in high school during the early 80s. i live in california, so i used to dress like a surfer, with permed long hair, white Vans with no socks, surfing t-shirts, adidas shorts, that mexican knit pullover hoodie; other popular clothes include designer jeans, polo shirts, corduroy, colored overalls, stripes, plaid shirts, rugby blouses, macrame knit accessories and clothes, etc. i think a lot of 80s clothes are back now. last week, i was window shopping in the mall, and i noticed many clothes and accessories that i used to wear in high school. i dont think i will buy them again. i want to wear something different. i buy what i like regardless if is in style or not. if it is cute on, then i like it.

I would have to say the biggest fashion craze while I was in high school was probably Abercrombie and Fitch, Aeropostale, Hollister, and any other type of name brand clothing that was pretty preppy. It seems like people will pay a lot of money for a shirt that just says a brand name on it. That's pretty creative I guess.

I was in high school the same time your mother was. I graduated in 1971. We also had mini skirts back then. There was also the boys with long hair. I remember all the rules we had, too, and certain girls getting in trouble because their skirts were too short! Yeah, those were the days! I had some tie dyed jeans and shirts. I also had some hip huggers. I remember all of the skirts were short pretty much but I wasn't allowed to have a mini skirt in my house. My parents were kind of strict on me! Actually, I'm glad they were now, though. Kathy.

Hypercolor shirts.. wearing socks with crocs...hooded tshirts, ratted hair or hair pulled up into clips or buns... Hmmm I don't really remember the guys so much... And as for me.. I wore whatever. One day I'd be in Union Bay, another day in a blazer with jeans and flats, another I'd be in a tshirt with a flannel. I do remember alot of days wearing lace shirts under velvet dress suits or jeans with cordouroy (I cant spell it worth a hoot lol) jackets and tshirts. I never gave a damn about what everyone else thought, although I must admit about 2 years after high school when they were doing the velvet and cordouroy thing I got quite a giggle out of it :P

hi bookreadermom if was a whole differetn world then,we were starting'to go to war in the second world war. the girls mostly'wore beehive style hair dos,we wore those stupid looking poodle' skirts with the poodle pocket. I always wanted a poodle skirt but never got'one.there were more full skirts worn b y us girls and the'dances were wild And hilarious. zoot suits were worn by some and looked awful. bell bottomed pants were in and most looked silly. most of the boys in our senior class of 1944 were alreAdy in the armed service and only the three four f boys were there.we had sugar rationing and gas rationing. there was not much fun in those years as we were'at war and our young men were already being killedl
