I usually post my articles at the end of my text but this one needs to be read before you read what I have to say so here it is: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090814/ap_on_re_eu/eu_britain_us_health_care Now I know this article seems, at first look, to be totally foriegn to what I have been saying recently here on MYLot but the last paragraph of the story really says it all! That last paragraph?(for those of you who either wouldn't or couldn't go to the article): British officials acknowledge that their system has been struggling to cope and faces a 15 billion pound ($24 billion) deficit. Hospitals are often overcrowded, dirty and understaffed, which means some patients do not get the care they are promised. By their own admission the British NHS is unfundable, causes overcrowded, understaffed and dirty hospitals and puts people at high risk and because of these shortfalls medicine is rationed! People, THINK! If this bill congress and the president is trying to shove down our throats were so good, why are they out doing the hard-sell campaign? If the people at town hall meetings protesting loudly against this bill are not a good representation of the American people as one turn-coat senator has recently said, why does anyone, much less the president, feel the need to go out and sell it, it should sell itself! It's total hogwash and will be the demise, if passed, of our healthcare system!

For some reason, the fact that the majority don't support this health care reform doesn't seem to faze the politicians one bit. Instead of trying to find out why they don't support it, the politicians have fallen back on the old "make everyone think they are a foolish fringe element and call them names that Bill Maher can repeat on his show" tactic. Strangely, the American people have not responded well to charges that they are an angry mob of swastika carrying un-American astroturf. Imagine the surprise on the faces of elitist snobs like Pelosi and Reid and Steyner.

It's still a damn site better than the American system which is based on greed and not the medical needs of the patient.
