Alright, bit harsh that title, but its seriously starting to piddle me off! I went to tasks to see if I could find something to up my earnings so I can reach payout this month and saw a nice easy "complete the survey" task, paying 20cents. Great, I can do that, well guess what I CANT coz when I got to the site it states at the top US and CANADIAN residents only. I wish the person (an American by the way) who posted this task had made it clear in the instructions that, if you are not in the US or Canada, you cannot complete the task. I mean how many non US/Canadian members are there on this site, THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS! Right, rant over! But please you guys in the US, just consider that there are lots of "us" out here, and we get to feel a little neglected at times, ok?

I haven't done any tasks because I like the discussions on My Lot much more. It is a shame that you can't join in that task that is for Americans and Canadians. I am not one of those nationalities either. One of the things I like about My Lot is making friends from all different countries. There are lots different nationalities on My Lot. I know others from my home country. There are many from the Philippines and India.

Im sure that more that 50% of members here are non US/Canadian. I dont mind so much that I cant take part, I just mind not being told this at the outset, its time wasting and inconsiderate. Thanks for your response.

hi maximax8 ; You are right, there are lots of members here from the Philippines and I am one of them. One basic reason why there are lots of Filipino members here is because of the economic crisis that we are experiencing. The salary that we gain is enough to cover all our basic needs. It is really good that we get to socialize here. Just like you, I am not active with task, I also love discussing and responding to discussions.happy mylotting!

I agree with you.. I just joined also just a while ago that survey site, cause there's no instructions there that non us/canadian can't join.. Now that task go to abandoned.. LOL. I'm just hoping they will consider us someday. Don't we have the right to participate on survey sites? Why?

Oh, you actually joined did you? Its just a waste of time Im afraid, if the rules were made clear then you and I would be spending our time doing more enjoyable or lucrative things. Thanks for responding.

I very much agree with you in this one Ritz. There are already a lot of opportunities presented to Americans in the real world, and still even in the virtual world its like that too..? Kinda unfair if you think about it, considering that the countries in real life are "first world". But, online internet is owned by everyone in the world. Well, IVe already seen too much of this that I kinda stopped caring about it. I mean, if its indicated that something is available to those listed countries only, then thats alright, Ill just move on to other things. But with those slight lapses of proper labeling, most especially if we want to get that or participate in it, only to find out that its not available to us.. that's like giving false hopes. People end up disappointed and frustrated. Anyway, that's just what I think, and no offense meant to anyone.^_^

yeah, there are those sites.^_^ Better opportunity since they are in british pounds or sterlings but those kinds of sites are only few as compared to those wanting to have the US/Canada demographics. Well, that's that I guess.

Exactly how I feel byky. The internet, by its name also inter (from interNATIONAL) is part of the entire world. Although, being honest, there are sites that exclude the US too, they are in Europe LOL

I am away from the tasks for the similar reasons. Firstly, I am not familiar in the topics and secondly more opportunities are given to the western users. However, it is understandable for me. A practical attitude is to fully utilize my own advantages, and to be involved in what I am interested in, which is lotting.

Great to have a practical attitude, never hit a brick wall and stop, either jump over, go round, dig under or knock it down!

Hi Ritz, There are a few task that available for international members like the one created by linkmaster and sharonbuck. Linkmaster task are about keyword search and sharonbuck mostly for writing task. Most of the survey task only available for members of certain countries. And they actually want you to join them as their referral. Survey is done to get feedback from the user and since most of that survey are for US or certain countries, they only want those who are from there to give a respond. This is very important for the survey. They want a good and valid feedback. And to achieve that, only those who can use the product or service are allowed to join it. Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

I fully understand the mechanics behind survey sites, there are some out there that only want UK or other specific countries to partake. However, my concern was that the poster of the task did not make it clear in the instructions that only US/Canadian citizens can fulfil the task. If it had said that I would have just passed it by and gone on to another. Its just the thoughtless way the task was posted, as if the whole world is America.

I thinks there probably are thousands, so Im going to start an interest where non americans can start discussions. Lets see how many people we get. You are right about non extinction though, I believe bloodlines are mixed and carry on throughout the world for generations. As the song says "coffee coloured people by the score"

ok praveen057, im giving you some insider info here, go to this link and do the math. http://www.mylot.com/w/usersbylocation/1.aspx US=a little over 50,000 (less that 30% of members)you only have to combine India and the Philippes to total more than that, then the other 100 odd countries. Canada only five thousand and something. UK has over 8,000 alone. Ok point made.

Hi tamara, it does sort of make sense if its a survey site, coz the questions would be unanserable to non US residents. But I just wanna be told beforehand, then I wouldnt bother even looking at it.

I totally agree with you, I hate tasks that are not well defined. It makes me so mad when you don't get paid based on someone elses screw up. If the task was not well defined they should be force to pay you regardless. That is how I feel, period end of rant. So frustrating.

I understand how you feel. I am also not american nor a canadian. It is quite unfair. You are right, almost all the tasks here are for those nationalities. Very few asians make task and if there will be, they will just offer 1 cent in signing up in one site, unlike with americans, some of them are offering 3 to 4 dollars just for writing an article on the given topic. It is good that you have open up about this concern. I hope they can read this. happy mylotting!

I am actually surprised no one has brought this up before. Its not just on here, but lots of money making opportunities on the internet seem to be geared only to the Americas. We should join ranks and start something that THEY cant be involved in yeh?

Hi Ritz. Of course, everyone counts! At least with many of us. I wonder what reason there was that only Americans and Canadians could do the survey? It would be nice to know the answer to that. Take heart. As I said, everyone counts equally with most of us :) Karen -- An American who is just a part of the human race, as everyone is.

Nice one Karen! Thanks for giving us a perspective for the other side of the Atlantic. Of course, I dont believe all Americans are inconsiderate, there are people in every nation who are, its not exclusive to the US. Thanks for being part of the "human race"

That's fine by me because i don't do task. well, there are some companies that only allows their own citizens to participate to prevent additional cost and probably spamming..i remember ciao for being international, then when they were loosing a lot of money to spammers, they banned other countries until they relied only to US citizens, until they were..just gone..well, sold off. i guess it's the persons fault for not saying US citizens only..but don't get upset, it's just happens. just chill ritz my friend

it is a matter of demand and supply and americans are the world's largest spenders especially online spendings. so most of the surveys are targeted to americans and west european countries. it also seems that they are easily convinced that ponzi schemes can do wonders. people from other part of the world are difficult to convince regarding ponzi schemes. how many mlm and matrix schemes have you invested in? and also how many products and ebooks have you purchased online? that we know such products and ebooks do not work makes us unfit for such surveys.

I agree with you completely.I have seen this tasks by the way.Everytime this guy posts a task he always says that only people from US and Canada are allowed. Now what is that suppose to mean? The only explanation to this can be that the sites in which he wants us to register allows US citizens only.
