Changes in Climate: A Sign of A Serious Global Warming

We are now experiencing frequent changes in weather, right? Now it's raining, minutes after, it would be hot. I saw a documentary on GMA 7, and it says that these are signs of a serious Global Warming. What do you think can we do to stop this?

In our own little way we can help stop climate change but I think the bulk of the problem lies with the machines that emit gases that can cause climate change. Because of economic constraint, we can not just buy an electric car right away or install solar panels to prevent climate change but I guess when we get the hang of always think "green" then we can be a contributor to a more healthy planet.

I think if we could just plant more trees that would absorb all the carbon dioxide, our ecosystem would still be balanced.

Since grade school I am already interested on this topic. It is really scary to read books about climate change and the effects it will cause. But now there are contradicting facts available on the Internet. Some says climate change is already occurring while many scientists still says that facts on climate change is still not enough. Some say that The US has a weather weapon called HAARP and it is powerful enough to create typhoons and other calamities which should only occur naturally. They say that it is possible that this weapon is being used as before during the war between US army and Vietnam. Whatever it is that they are trying to do with the climate, hundred of sites say conspiracy reasons. The US senate passed a law about using weather weapons or similar to that. It wouldn't be possible to pass such laws if it doesn't exist. To quote from http://www.earthpulse.com/src/subcategory.asp?catid=1&subcatid=7, "HAARP could contribute to climate change by intensively bombarding the atmosphere with high-frequency rays… Returning low-frequency waves at high intensity could also affect people's brains, and effects on tectonic movements cannot be ruled out. 11. More generally, HAARP has the ability of modifying the World's electro-magnetic field. It is part of an arsenal of "electronic weapons" which US military researchers consider a 'gentler and kinder warfare'."

Wow, thanks for sharing! This is not illegal? I think US has a really high technology that it would not be impossible for them to have a device like that. So, this could be one of the possibilities why our climate is changing repidly?

There are signs that the climate is changing. Tornados in the Philippines are not that common but in the last few weeks the frequency and strength of this tornados are increasing. This is new in the Philippines. I think we can do our part by doing small things. Unplugging unsused appliances or turning of the lights may not make a big impact but it does.

Yes, i have also noticed that tornados are now often coming to our country. I won't be surprised if volcanos would erupt simultaneously in the near future. We are the ones to blame because we let this happen to our planet.

Today's crazy weather is really a cause for alarm. If all just do their part even a small way maybe in time we can fight the serious effects of global warming. Most people are just insensitive like always burning garbage mostly the plastics when it is against the law and against their health. They even reason that it's just once but almost all are burning once so how many would that be in a certain day? Planting trees when you cut down one is also good and encouraged and converting of last remaining lands that are still usable for tree planting into a subdivision is really bad.

Yes, those subdivisions really can help in contributing taxes but can't they notice that in subdivisions, these are the places which have a higher percentage of land slide. This is because the trees, which hold the soil were being cut down.

In reality, Global warming is unstoppable because of the modernization of technology, we can only minimized its effect in the environment but we cannot stop it, even scientists say that GB is inevitable. First thing to do is, we should be aware what causes Global Warming so that we can avoid, prevent and do something to help save the environment. Last year, I had the chance to research about global warming when I was given a writing project about this topic. One of the causes of Global Warming is the massive presence of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, one of the main causes of Global warming, is a natural gas present in the air together with methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and water vapor, these greenhouse gases made our mother earth livable, but if these natural gases will increase its presence more than the required percentage in the atmosphere, it shoots up fluctuating climate changes, resulting to global warming. Carbon dioxide rapidly increases with human inflicted activities like fossil fuel burning, deforestation, densely populated environment and pollution. So in order to help Global warming from becoming worst, we must take a first step by protecting our surroundings. Segregating garbage is one of the best solutions to avoid pollution. Planting trees and using bio-diesel in cars are another steps. We should not throw materials, especially corrosive materials into drainage and to beaches because it will contaminate water vapor and brought those toxin to the atmosphere therefore affecting water cycle triggering extreme weather changes. So the first major step to make is within ourselves. We should always be responsible with what we do in the environment, our lifestyle and awareness should be in accordance with our mission to protect mother Earth.

Me and my group mates also try to participate in global warming awareness. We're now trying to make the fish bones as fertiliers. I think this is a great idea because instead of adding these bones into waste materials, they will be a fertilizer which will be of great help to humans and environment.

Yes you are right. The weather has become very unpredictable for that past days. This morning I went out after the Sunday mass. As I was walking, I felt the excruciating pain of the heat of the sun. It feels like summer to think that we are already in August. And then, late in the afternoon, I saw the clouds get darker. Well, we cannot anymore stop this. What we can do is to lessen its effect by being conscious of how we dispose our garbage. We have to consciously join our hands together for this will have a great impact on us.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. It's the recent change in weather. Moments ago, it was sunny but now, it's raining cats and dogs here. We should not underestimate this change in weather for it will be our big problem in the future.

Hello gracepts! Good day to you. Well, in my own based opinion. We really encounter now the signs of global warming because as the past years later this kind of weather condition was really far from now. In the past years, when the condition of weather is raining, the only kind of weather that you will encounter is rain and no other the hot weather. With this situation it can also be consider as a sign of the global warming. By the way, after watching the special documentary of the Gma7 regarding the global warming, I can say that I learn on it and they give me the true visions that I must do to stop the global warming. Regarding to you question gracepets, i think the things that we can do to stop this is be the one who is responsible that acts on the right things and no longer abuse the nature by pollution that most of us created. But if your standard in life was good, I think the things that you must do is to start a campaign regarding the global warming and start to invite people who are concern in this matter. How I wish global warming will no longer stay here in our land because it is more good to live away from a changing weather condition. As a sort of addition here in our province we really encounter climate change and most of the kids here do have sick. That's all my response in your discussion.

Yes, I absolutely agree to your response. Let's just be responsible with our acts and let's not abuse the environment. Like if we cut trees, we should plant ones too. We should not throw our garbages anywhere. Let's not spit on the ground. Let's not be selfish because at the end, each one of us will be affected too.

Its true the weather is changing. In fact in Fairbanks Alaska last week that had near 90 degree weather. Normally they hardly ever get out of the 70s. They said they had recods broken all over alaska and they have never seen it like that. More glacier ice has melted there this year then any other year, in history. Many salmon are not even to be found this year. So we really need to start doing something. I know we recycle when its possible. We plant trees, and grow as much food as possible.

Even animals, too are affected by this climate change. Everyone of us are affected that's why we should work hand in hand in order to make things work. Here in the Philippines, the climate is really irritating. It's cold now, then one second it's hot already.
