Are there enough responses in your discussions?

If you all go around you can see that there are other members here that are really quite appealing in MyLot. They have hundreds of discussions with way over 50 responses even though though discussions are quite simple and basic or rather ordinary. What do you think is the key to discussions getting so many responses? Do you think it's because of their reputation as being popular in the site? Do you think it is because they don't have enough friends who watch out for their discussions? Do you think anybody really cares about what they post? What about those of our friends who have less than 10 responses in their discussions I see a lot of those including mine, what do you think of it? What do you think is missing from some of friends' discussions that have very little responses in them? How do you think they can be improved? So many questions really and in a single discussion this can precipitate a lot of angles and factors. This can be as broad as it can get but if this can help some of our friends here including me to see what's missing in their discussions then let's all chip in to help.

Hi wolveren. Heck no, I don't think there is ever enough! I always want more! LOL Here's a link to a discussion about how to get more responses: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1118753.aspx I don't know if you have seen it or not. It's a bit old, but it has some good tips on there. Hopefully it'll be of some use to you. Good luck and happy mylotting!

Well, it really depends on how interesting the topic of the discussion we created. In my case, I only got less than 5 responses. But I never worry about it since it depends on our fellow myLotters to respond on it. Happy myLotting...

Yeah, I never used to worry about getting responses to my discussions when I first started. I was feeling my way around the site and yeah trying to figure how things work. So I was really busy learning how to go about here than worrying if my discussions had responses. But now I go around and look at some friends discussions including mine. Whoaa, must be in the wrong interests because I get really few responses. Nevertheless, one way or another all your responses here will be read by other members and they can help others to improve their discussions. thanks for the response!

Yeah right. Well you are on the right track you know, by reading and responding to discussions you can gain experience and learn from them. Later on you can be writing better discussions with some flare and a style of your own. But I guess some of us really have that talent to be good at writing. cheers and good luck! Keep it up my friend.

Yes, that's right. But for me as a starter, I spend more time to viewing some discussions and posting on those I am interested to and share some ideas. Just like what I did here....

I agree with you that many of the mylotters are not able to get a double digit responses even if the subject of the discusssion is relevant. As you said some simple or ordinary discussions are attracting many responses. I dont think this is because of their reputation or popularity. There are many reasons to get the attention. I think, it all depends on the selection of the interet, tagging and the way they are presenting. Most of my discussions will have below 5 or 10 responses . I dont think my subject is week. But others are not interested in the subject. So we have to improve it .

Yeah, for one thing you are right about that. That depends also on the members' selection of interests. And yes mylot emails us of the discussions that are checked in our interests. This is valuable for those who need to see which interests to be posting on, then they get lots of responses. Really good one. thanks.

Yes, it gets like that when you are new. But just like what sacmom has shared with us on this discussion, the tips on that link will greatly help get responses to your discussions. You have a whole lot of future up ahead here on mylot, be friendly with people here. Try to post very interesting discussions, I know my discussions sometimes aren't really that interesting to some, but hey I tried. hehe. No big deal though. I still love the atmosphere here on mylot and that is good enough for me.
