Well, for one, I love myself. Not in an arrogant kind of way. If you can't love yourself, how can you love others? And two, would you really do anything for the person you love? Even if that included dying for them or letting them be with someone else because it would make them happy or it's what they might want? That's how you can really say you love someone.

I agree, you can't love others if you'll not be able to be really sure that you love yourself.

Well, I think u really love a person when u like her or him as a package of good and bad. I mean u r able to adjust and accept his or her bad as well. Some people notice the mistakes and yet tentatively ignore them, hoping that they would rectify them once they are married. While some habits or bad things about other person can be corrected, the person is not going to transform leaving all that he or she enjoyed. For example a boy is lazy. It is unlikely that he would change to be hardworking person. If and only if this is acceptable then the girl should consider she loves him totally. If she thinks he is lazy because he has no goal to work for, and once we are married, he will work hard for me because he loves me, and would do anything for me, and has promised me stars, etc. She is mistaken. May be he will do it a couple of times. Not always. In true love though the faults are visible, they become immaterial in front of the relationship.
