fish oil&health

I want to take fish oil daily and I want to know the benefit of taking fish oil.

I was told that fish oil is good for your heart. I happen to have a bottle of the tablet's. I have never had a heart problem, but a friend gave it to me and said if I ever did have a problem take it.
