Where is the strangest place your cat has become stuck in?

I just had to rescue my little calico kitty, Bonnie, from behind my tv. Not sure how she got back there, but she couldn't get out. I got nervous as she was going through all the wires back there. When she was a tiny kitten she got stuck behind the stove. I was late for work, trying to get her out. What strange places has your cat gotten stuck in?

My cat gets stuck on the roof all the time and I have to get the ladder out and get him down. You would think he would quit getting up there he knows he can't get down!

I had one cat one time get stuck in an air conditioner. It was one of those kinds that sit in the window and it was broken. My dad had it in the garage to try to fix it and one day we couldn't find the cat, couldn't find the cat, couldn't find the cat, until after a couple of hours we heard her crying out in the garage and there she was, peeking out of the broken place in the air conditioner. Same cat also got herself closed in cupboards and dresser drawers all the time because she was tiny and could crawl in when you weren't looking. Silly kitty.

One more that was actually not mine, but my brother's cat. He was at work and had a guy at his house doing some work in his kitchen. He came home to discover that the cat had been trapped in the wall behind the new cabinets so he called the guy. The guy tells him, "Yeah, the cat went in there and I couldn't get it out so I just finished the work" Huh? What kind of idiot was this guy? So of course he had to come back and take the cabinet out to let the cat out, what was he thinking!

One of my cats got stuck in a plastic grocery bag. He put his head through the handle and got the bag stuck on his butt. He was freaking out running all over the house and we couldn't catch him to get the bag off. Finally he ran behind the couch and we were able to reach down and get the bag off. He had actually peed himself in his state of panic, luckily all the pee was caught in the bag. To this day if he sees or hears the rustle of a plastic bag he runs and hides.

Seems that all cats initially like the plastic bags, until they get tangled in one. I think the rustling noise is what gets to them. Mine love cardboard boxes. I don't bother buying any kind of cat beds, because the cardboard box always wins. Thanks for the great stories!

My kitten once got into the toilet pan, I thought cats are afraid of water. It was after a lot of hassles we got her out. There is an ornamental net that hangs from roof. Once I found hherentangled in that net an mewing. These places were quite strange and yet funny...

Oh no! In the toilet pan! That's funny. My cat also likes water. She always sits on the edge of the bathtub when I shower. The other day she climbed in. She was trying to drink the shower water. You would think I don't give her fresh water!!!LOL! She must always have running water....silly kitty. Thanks for your story.

Back in 1988 I had designed and made my Mom a stuffed acrylic coyote. It was 6 feet tall and soft and snuggly. I finally had got the wrapping paper to wrap it so I could put it under the tree. I struggled wrapping the coyote and finally finished wrapping the thing (it's like wrapping a human who won't cooperate!). For some reason I missed KoKo, my Siamese cat that was always at my side. I was concerned because she was nearly blind from the abuse she received at the hands of her previous owner. I searched the house and couldn't find her. I finally checked the gift wrapped coyote and there she was, asleep between the coyote's legs! I unwrapped it and got her out and re-wrapped it making sure that she didn't crawl in for another nap. After Mom unwrapped it, it sat in one of the easy chairs in the living room, and KoKo always took her naps on his lap.

Glad you noticed Koko missing. So cute that she made friends with the coyote. Thanks for sharing your story.

I had to get my cat out from an oven once. Since the oven was all black and my cat is also black, it was hard to see her at first but lucky me, I saw her before I started to make a fire in there :)

My uncle has a kitty named Creamy. She's really afraid of strangers. When I go visit, she would run and hide. Usually my uncle would stop her between the stacks of boxes in the storage room. She'll be in so deep that my uncle couldn't reach her but later she'll come back out by herself.

Poor Creamy. I have a tortoise shell calico that is the same way. She will run and hide when a stranger comes over. She eventually comes out. But, if you actually get to pet her, then she will never leave your side. Thanks for your story!

One of my mom's cats has a habit of climbing on the roof and my mom frequently has to get a ladder to get her back down because she just stands there and cries for the longest until she gets her.

When my cat, Smokey was a kitten, she would hide behind the refrigerator. She mainly did this to hide from us or get away from us because she hated getting medicated. She had ear mites and cat pink eye when she was a baby. Now she is better, not hiding much, but when she does, she now tends to hide downstairs in the rafters.

Well, besides having to recue cats from my trash can quite often (i have one of the big "industrial" type trashcans you would fine in a supermarket or a shapping center, that is gid, heavy and has a domed lid with a heavy flap over the opening, they fall in when playing around on it, and it is too heavy/big for them to tip over and get out themselves)the weirdest place i have ever had to "rescue" a cat form was in my fridge. I was making something to eat, and hadn't shut the fridge door all the way, well, when i was finished making food, and just kind of bumped the door chut with my hip with out realizing my cat had climbed in and was sitting on the bottom shelf! Luckily about 20 minutes later i went to the fridge again to get a drink, opened the door and the cat came bolting out!! She was fine, but i was just glad it didn't happen right before going to bed or going to work, as i don't know how she would have fared being stuck in there for 8 hours! That would have been one chilly kitty!!
