Do you always read the manual for say your car? Even though I've been driving for years I know I usually don't unless their some feature on a new model I'm not familiar with. I don't like my current manual anyway as it's a CD-ROM and I"m used to a book with a huge index for every lil thing ;0) We just got a new washer and I had to read the manual as it has some digital programming to it whereas my old was your standard turn the knob and that was that. I try to save the manuals but I usually don't know where they are when I actually need them.

I never read my car manual unless completely necessary, such as a blinking/flashing light I am totally unaware of. However I always keep the manual in the glove compartment just in case... you never know when you might need it.

I used to keep mine in my glove box too but with it being a cd-rom makes it a lil difficult.

I don't usually read the manuals unless its for something new that I haven't used before. Like when I got my ipod or something like that. We keep the manuals for everything we have though. We have a drawer just for manuals. That way if we need to check them for something we know where to find it.

I am a teenager, so I never tend to read any manuals, unless for some reason commonsense lest me down :/ ...my parents always read the manuals before they even open a product. I think as I am younger I tend to just rip into everything and just guess!

I do love to keep manuals ... first because attached to it is the product warranty... second..i don't know - i just love keeping them... I put them in a drawer labelled "manuals/receipts" for all equipments i bought... then i don't realize they've Been there too long... even if the item Is gone already.

I have packed up and moved my household goods two times now and I am so amazed at the amount of manuals that we keep without ever reading them. I finally threw a bunch of them out. I won't ever need to read the one for my cell phone or for the microwave, but for things like my computer I consider keeping. I needed a manual for some software that I had but of course it was no where to be found. Luckily we have the internet and I was able to find a copy of the manual online. Now I only keep a copy of the manuals if there isn't a copy available to read online, sure saves on space.

I am terrible about reading my manuals. The only time I read them is when I can't figure out whatever it is on my own. I do, however, save them. I save every single one of the manuals that I get. I have a big filing cabinet and have them all filed in there. It's easy for me to find them in the event that I need to refer to them in the future.

I save manuals. CD and written. I rarely read them but my mom saves everything and it rubbed off on me. But, unlike her, I refuse to save the boxes that things come in!! I do not ever want to buy something with digital programming but I know I can't escape it. Eventually my washer and dryer will break down and will have to be replaced and by then everything will be digital. Woe is me!! I hate programming stuff. Grandma's old wringer washer would be good enough for me, it did a great job. I might resort to a clothesline and an iron when the dryer gives out, don't know what I'd do about the washer--maybe get a huge tub and imitate a grape smasher?

ok, so , i am one of the weird ones that pretty much always reads the instructions and at lesat browses the manuals for about everything i buy, from TV's to electronics and appliances, to even small things like a new curling iron LOL...i don't know why, as most time i don't really learn anything new, but soemtimes some of the warnings and they way they have to explain things is hilarious and i get a kick out of it. I am sorry, but if you don't even know what a curling iron is used for, and need that many detailed instructions, why did you buy it? LOL. Some of the safty warnings are hilarious as well. Really? you mean i shouldn't use the new steam iron i bought to iron clothes WHILE i am wearing them?...whew...i am glad they warned me in advance!!

If I have something new, I always kept its User's Manual. It really saves you time and resources if you always have them checked if you are not aware of a certain issue of that thing. However, if I have the know-how of a certain objects, I might not kept it. Like for example I have a Nokia N70 and I use it a lot and then I bought a Nokia N76, I wouldn't mind having its manual since they nearly the same thing of operation as N70. It really depends on the item you are using. But if it is very precious and expensive, I will keep its manual.

Most of the time i usually don't bother much to read the manuals. When i buy something new, or haven't used even once then i try to read the manuals, else i just do fine by trial and errors mostly

I always read the manuals first just to make sure I don't break anything and I understand what I'm doing and how a particular item works. I also save the manuals and put them in a safe place but like you I sometimes forget where I put them, so consequentially I search high and low for them and eventually find them, which sometimes takes to much time.

I usually don't use the manual unless I really can't figure out how it works. They are so thick and they don't always get right to the point on how the product works.

I read and save the manuals. Not because I like to, but because it saves me a lot of time in the long run knowing how the product works best and I do not like trying to look for it on line when there is some sort of emergency with the product. Reading the manuals have helped me to use the dishwasher more efficiently, cook with the stove at even temperatures, wash for less money per load, avoid large bills with the furnace, sump pump, water heater. As for the car, there is nothing like rolling down the highway and needing to do something simple like figure out the headlights while swerving all over the road looking for the controls. As for the manuals, I buy a cheap notebook with at least a two-inch ring in it. I put the manuals for the kitchen in a notebook and keep it in the kitchen, a manual for entertainment system components for the media room, notebook for furnace, furnace, sump pump, humidifier, etc. in the basement. These notebooks come in so handy because I can get to the paperwork without flipping through files looking through wads of papers. If I feel really energetic, I label the notebooks according to what is in them.

I save the manuals, as for reading them though? Thats a different story. I mean I just recently got a new car and yes I will admit, I read some of the manual about the bluetooth, and the baby seat, as to were to anchor it. Yea, it came with a dvd also, which honestly I think is pretty bad. Do they really need to put DVDs with the products now cause people don't want to read the manuals? I would much rather read stuff then have to listen to it.

I never read them unless there's actually something to do with set up that I can't figure out on my own. I do usually keep though, but come to think of it I don't know why.

Oh I do not like manuals, most of the time I tinker around with whatever I have new and try to figure it out instead of going through the manual. Bad Bad habit. I can't tell you how many times I kept trying to figure something out , just to end up having to go to the M.a.n.u.a.l after all !!!

Depends on what the manual is from....I read and saved the manuals from my daughter's carseats, crib, and stroller system. I saved them mostly because all of these items convert somehow later on anyway, and i'd need the manuals to convert them, but also just in case I was curious as to how to wash, or treat the wood on her crib later. Any other appliance, I don't really care about. As for car manuals, I don't think I've ever given mine a second glance. Though it came with a leather zipper pouch, including a first aid kit, so I just keep it in my glovebox anyway. ;)
