I have the habit of keeping all my birthday cards and like to go through them once in a while. The friends who gave you cards on your last birthday may not give you cards on your next birthday. It is nice to go through the cards and thik about the friendship. Do you have this habit?

The only person who has sent me birthday cards is my Sister in law. I keep it in safe possession till so long we are in good talking terms. The moment we fight i search for all her things and either throw it out or tear it. We both are good friends. But we live in a situation of no inch given and no inch taken. That way i have no cards remaining to think of my past birthdays. I am mad sometimes thx

That is sad. I am sorry friend. It seems your siste in law is very nice to send you brithday cards. You can't tear her apart, so you are showing the anger by tearing the brithday cards. Please try to keep them from next birthday onwards. I don't tear the cards even if I am angry with the person. One reason is because I keep the cards away in cupboard. So, by the time I search and find it, my anger will be gone. Thanks for the response.

Of course I do keep them with me, but from some years I am not getting that much cards as I used to get earlier, and that is because of technology, most of the people just send emails, or calls up or send e-cards. Thats why the numbers have reduced, but of course the reduction is not in wishes but only cards. But i do have kept all cards I received since almost 15-26 years as I remember and I do go through them once ot twice a year and really feel very good going back to old memories and thinking of the past times when we recieved them.

Yes, exactly it is nice to go through them and go back to those old memories. The same problem happens to me also. I used to get a lot of cards when I was in college. Now, I started sending e-cards and get a lot of ecards. I won't take the pain to go to a stor and get a physical card unless the person is my close to me. I don't think an ecard can replace a real card. Thanks for the response.

I keep all of my birthday, Christmas, and any other holiday cards. I want to keep the memory if I ever happen to lose touch with that friend. Besides, when I get older, I'll like to look through the box of cards again and see what people wrote to me.

That is very nce. I used to collect Christmas cards too. I stopped it because the number of Christmas cards exceeded the maximum limit (it was a big number). I was very mad about Christmas card and I even stolen some cards from my sister's collection to increase my collection. I finally gave up. I think I might start colelcting it again from this year.

I do collect all the greeting cards that i get - i have only a few people around me who think of me and send me cards. I always collect all the cards and save it in a box. The last time i went through them was an year ago and it was nostalgic :) But now in this digital era friends and relatives send me their wishes online through ecards or call me and wish me - so i miss the card collection ;)

The same applies to me also. I am also getting more ecards compared to real cards. It is easy to send ecards and it is less time consuming. But, I think eacards will never replace a real card. The feeling you get when you see an ecard is different from the feeling you get when you get a real card and read the message written in your friend's handwriting. Thanks for the response.

Yes, I feel sad if I must throw the cards away.. Usually my friend write something inside it and I like to read it again, remember about our friendship at that time. Beside that reason, I always tell myself that I will need that card one day, maybe I can get inspiration from its picture or words, so I keep it until now This is not only for birthday cards, it's for all the cards, like Christmas or New Year cards.. I really appreciate the one who send me cards,, because for me, it shows that they care about me much.. In this era of text message, email and other social site, greeting card is really something that can make me smile

Yes, you are right sometimes you can get inspiration from those cards. I go through the cards when I am depressed or worried about some issues. In that case, I go through the cards and read the words written by friends and feel that I have so many people who loves me and I lucky to have those friends and family. Thanks for the response.

That used to be a hobby of mine - once upon a time. I loved the idea of greeting cards - finding the most suitable ones, and keeping the ones I got. I remember when I went home after my time at University - when I was unpacking, I could not believe the number of shoe boxes I had - all filled with greeting cards. Even now, I enjoy taking them out of their shoe boxes, looking at them, and remembering...It's also an activity I enjoy sharing with friends who come to visit, or friends who I see only rarely. It's amazing how many memories come flooding back when you look at a card or recognize a handwriting or even see a name that you had almost forgotten. Hmm..All this talk has made me nostalgic! I think I'll go take a look at some of them now!

Are you still getting greeting cards?Time has changed a lot and with the advanced technology I don't get any cards as in the past.It was only in the school days we use to send greeting cards for birthdays, new year, pongal and deepavali. There was one good event to share with you.In those days, one of our friends would threaten others to send some sexy photos of actresses as greeting cards. We all would be fearing, how to handle our parents if it gets into their hands. But he just threatened but didn't send one.Cheers!
