Do you think organic strawberries taste better?

I swear organic produce tastes better in general, but I think organic strawberries are particularly special tasting. They are truly red, shiny, nice in texture, and awesomely sweet! What do you think?

i agree... i've bought one time strawberries directly from a farmer who only do organic and somehow i love the taste of strawberries grown organically than those commercial ones.

Oh yes, aren't the organic strawberries so much sweeter? I think the fact that they are a bit smaller helps that they are sweeter. Often the "regular" ones in the markets tend to be large - and they are not necessarily the tastiest (being whitish inside). The organic ones are a bit more expensive, but certainly worth the money!

I eat the strawberries growing out of my backyard. It doesn't taste as sweet and doesn't look as red as store bought strawberries but I think it's healthier.

I guess the success of homegrown produce depends on many factors, and I'm not one to comment about that. But yes, I bet it is healthier!

If you mean truly organic that you grow yourself then yes, there is no comparison to the taste of fresh from the back yard and the stuff you get at the supermarket.

I wish I could grow my very own organic produce!! I will say I've gotten organic strawberries from farms and farmers markets, and they are THE best. The stuff in the supermarket seems to have been pre-chilled and smashed into those plastic cartons. Who knows how long ago they were picked!

I couldn't agree with you more! I definitely think organic strawberries are better - they are ripe and sweet! The non-organic strawberries I have gotten are still a bit green and sour and mealy inside. I don't go organic for everything I eat, but when the fruits and veggies are at a reasonable price, I go for those first. They are much better!

Yes, we take our changes with the non-organic strawberries . . . the inside isn't always as how it looks on the outside. We don't get organic everything either, but when the price is right (when it's in season), we try to get as much organic as we can.
