Finally these two people are fighting back against advertisers who use their names without permission. You've seen them, the Ads for diet supplements that are approved By Oprah and Dr. Oz, well it's not true, they have never approved any diet pills of any type. So be aware and don't support the phonies.

Of course the minute Oprah endorses anything; it sells like hotcakes because people are silly like that...I am pleased to hear that Dr Oz and Oprah are fighting this. It is extremely irresponsible to put such famous names on dangerous products but then anyone making this stuff would not be too concerned about the consumer’s welfare would they?

I never even heard of doctor oz but maybe him fighting back with oprah will make him more famous so this will probably only help him now. But its good to see oprah fight back since I doubt she reccomends a lot of that stuff just like when they say it was on fox news or cnn.

Anyone can put anything on twitter, it's good not to put much faith in this as a resource. Thanks

I wouldn't buy anything they endorsed anyway. People that buy stuff because Oprah endorsed it are stupid. I know that companies are using their names without permission but that's because stupid people buy products endorsed by them. You should only buy a product based on what researchers and the scientific community are saying- not some dumb tv host.

Well this is why name recognition is so important for public figures. With out it no one pays attention to them, it's not smart it's just the way it is in our society. Thanks

Pat- I just saw the news write up today, and am glad they are speaking up! I don't agree with everything Oz and Oprah put out, and I do agree that Oz is only famous because of her but I think that it is important that people know that this doctor is not endorsing dangerous products. Of course, I've not taken any of my weight advise from Oprah in the first place, but I know how confusing it can be when you trust the person you are listening to. It's like Bob Green. He's endorsed all of this "healthy living" stuff, and most of it is loaded with HFCS. I don't buy most of the products on that list. Namaste-Anora

Both names have far too much influence to be used in the sale of iffy products. So....I am glad they are fighting back!
