Hiii friends We all know that media/press is the fourth estate of any country and it is often true that a country can be made strong or week by press. that is the powe of media and that is why we have given them very much freedom. But dont you think that lately this freedom is being wrongly utilized? Now a days media has left the stand of enlightening the people on important issues but they are enligtening them on unnecessary issues.they have left the moral values. They are stooping to a very low level for gossips and to make money. What do u think is to be done now with the media. Should we leave them like this or should some reforms be taken? Because media reflect a country

Need a reform i think. Well press in their old times, is taken a role to inform a news, just inform and don't give opinion. So people can judged everything objectively. But this objectivity of news is losing it grip and turning into a power of suggest people of what happen, sometimes they are not telling the truth. that is when a bad news is a good news phrase come. i kinda get bored of watching the press lately, they rarely give us an objective point of view of a news, they only give us some subjective vie from their very own perspective, which is i think the media already lose it own role, and starting losing control. An immediate reform is needed

The press have abandoned their important mission of informing the people and instead pick and choose what they will tell us in accordance with their own bias. The way to reform them is through the power of the people, the consumers of their product. We must let them know where they are failing and when they fail us. Contact them, tell them what you disapprove of, point out to them what freedom of the press is really all about.

I don't think anything should be done about them on a governmental level (FAR FROM IT!). I think the current trends are good enough. That is, alternative forms of news are popping up and filling in where the mainstream press is failing (often stealing away viewership), if this doesn't encourage them to shape up...then eventually they'll probably fall away and fail as businesses and we'll be back to citizen journalism, which is how the press started out anyways. If you don't know about the alternative news movement, which is currently booming today, I'd like to encourage you to research it. From video based alternative news networks (like Real News and tv networks like Current -- which fames itself for being a channel of 'user rated content'), to news bloggers, and online alternative news pages (From the fringe Alex Jones, to the less or not so fringe WhatReallyHappened, Cryptogon, and the professional ThinkProgress and Rawstory).

well idk i see that in some media, what do u call it? in some media forms if u will, such as T.V. i am 18 in like 2 days but i have been really interested in the news since i was like 14 or so, while alot of my friends were out watching movies and cartoons i would often times watch the news. my favorite news channel is CNN they r good and they dont seem to wander off to gossip or leave behinf moral, but mind u morals are very subjective and thus vary. so certain channals can certainly be trusted to bring u the issue whether world-wide, national, or local. u must also consider that some channal are made for gossiping about celebs and such. these r probably the ones u r talking about, they are made to do so, gossip and what not. im not saying they r morally wrong or right, just its sort of what they were aired to do cuz its what interest ppl. we have the freedom to do so as long as no is getting hurt. and if someone feels like that should stop cuz they r getting hurt, then no will tell the media to stop until, the ppl getting hurt by the gossiping say something. if the media continues then they have the right to take it to the courts. so in the end the idea of morals is important to consider what u consider morals may not be the same as others
