When we learn how to write cursive writings, we will start to create our own and special 'signature'. We will try and try until we get the one that satisfied us! So, how is your signature? Is it complicated, or simple? Easily read and copied? Do you have a line as based. I heard that signature that going upwards and have a line as a base is quite good. It means the person 'life' or 'career' are heading upwards and he/she are getting good support.. Most signatures for official use like signing cheques, credit cards are complicated but those 'initials' are very simple & easily copied! Do share your views and opinions. Thanks

Hi Iriene! Handwriting or say 'graphology' is one of my favourite subjects. I remember, when I joined mylot, I started my first discussions, which was about 'graphology'. It is true that hand writing is reflection of our true personality and it is our private image, while our signatures are our 'public image'. The one who signs in the same manner as he writes is an honest person and he cannot conceal anything from the public, he is same in private and public, as well. My signatures are not complicated, it is simple one, it is legible and one can read it easily, however, I make full signatures and I write my entire name and surname, when I put signature on important documents, such as cheques/personal papers. In office, I use shorter signature, because I am required to sign on many papers. I may mention here that simple looking signatues are not easy to 'copy', on the other hand complicated looking signatures are easy to copy for the 'cheaters'. Also, when we sign, our two signature do not match, there would be some variation in those two signature, however, bank people matches our signature with their record through our style and some other features of our signatures. How about you? How do you make your full signatuers, complicated or simple? Thanks for starting such an interesting post. Deepak

Dear Deepak, You are really an expert in 'handwriting' and signatures.. So, can you be my mentor... I totally agree with you on this :- Simple looking signatures are not easy to 'copy', on the other hand complicated looking signatures are easy to copy for the 'cheaters'. When it is difficult, many may overlook the fraud. My signature is the same as my handwritings..slant to the right, upwards, which spelled my name, have a base and it is legible.. Thanks for sharing such a details and valuable knowledge here. All of us here learned alot from your response, really appreciate it!

Dear Iriene! I cannot claim that I am an expert in analysis of 'handwriting' and 'signatures' yet I can say that I've read lots of books on graphology, therefore, I can understand a person, once I see his/her handwriting with his/her signatures. It will be my pleasure to be a mentor to somone It is good that your signatures are same as your handwriting, it means that you are down to earth and a very honest and trasparent person, it becomes difficult for you to be 'diplomatic' sometimes. It is good that my knowledge helped you learn new things. Deepak PS - you may send me a full page scanned sample of your handwriting, I'll do the analysis for you. See if you could send it through PM, else I'll give you my email ID.

Dear Iriene, another interesting topic you have here... I learned to sign my very first signature when I was in primary school. I signed it with my english name (at that time was Jenny then changed to Jennifer) and of course never forget to add a line underneath as a based. Later on, when I started to work, I changed to a more complicated one. It was so complicated till I have difficulty in producing the same signatures when I was trying to withdraw money at the bank counter. From there on, I told myself no more such a hassle in future and walla...now I use a very simple signature and also easily to read.

Thanks for sharing, I truly enjoy reading it. Hope to hear your views on my other topics too. All the best, do keep in touch!

Nowadays, few people have as good handwriting as before, hence a new trade is in shape to serve those who wish to present a personalized signature. It makes good sense to prepare a decent signature through design and practice. But personally I do not like those demonstrated on the street corners. They are too flying so to speak, without deep cultural support. Good signature must look solid and rigid, like the personality one is expected to develop.

signatures are an identity to some people.. in some extends, faking a signature can be a crime.. btw, I have a very simple signature even it's long and look easy to be imitate.. however, if one look carefully, it's not that easy to fake mine, since it's simple and I know bankers will be very careful in verifying them.. I ever had a discussion with a banker, that if one signature is difficult, they normally don't verify it that close, coz to them, it may not be fake.. however if one signature is simple, then they will have to be careful with it.. I have a friend, who has been called by bank all the time to verify signatures because his was so simple, that banks are extremely careful with that..

Dear ypyanyan, Yes, I remembered when I went to Shanghai, where they sell 'fengshui' items. This fengshui expert asked the tourist to write something in Chinese words and signature, from from there he can tell the person about his past, his current situations and advise her what to do. Amazing :) Some indication on signatures :- Cancelled out signature affirming a low self worth. Small, straight signature, underlined and with an added dot: Shy, timid, lacks ambition, too fussy about irrelevant details. Thanks for sharing, Hope to hear your views on my other topics too. My signature is delicate and very stylish. I am a graphic designer so I really have good writing and drawing skills. It is not very complicated but I think it can't be easily copied. I do have a line as a base and I think the letter type is really chic.

I must admit that my handwriting is rather hard to read and is not easily copied. I cannot say that I am particularly satisfied with with but it is functional for the quick writing that I must do. In the instances where I can take my time I might write slowly and draw my signiture more carefully.

Hi Iriene, When I was single I had a very simple signature, I just write my full name, with no "wingdings" and frills, and that's it. When I got married and my family name changed I tried to experiment with my new name, and then I came up with a complicated looking signature, but I like it more than the old one. Also, it is more difficult to forge which is important when signing legal documents, so it serves me better now.

Dear Iriene88, I am bad when it comes to signature. Mine is so simple that my credit card was once duplicated and copied and spent and then cancelled! All without my knowledge. I dont know why, but I seriously cant come out with better signatures. It is like, whenever I try to create some new signature, I'll get 'signature's block' and it will end up simple again. So I give up. Thank goodness passports still uses my thumb print!

Hi, I have a very complicated signature, nothing to do with my name at all. I just simply create it from the 'thin air'...lol So far so good, no problems with the cheques, or withdrawing money from the bank counter or credit cards. I heard people say, NEVER sign your name in red pen. Thanks and regards,

My signature is easy for me to sign but close to impossible to copy. In my last name I really only spell out the first three letters and the rest is pretty much scribble. Kind of like a doctor's handwriting.

Dear neelia, I totally agree with your views. My mum used to sign her Chinese signatures, but now she will request the bank officer to take her thumb print instead. She worried that she might no be able to sign the same signature again in the future as she said once gets older, the hand are not able to do so. Since you keep the signature simple, make sure you keep all the important documents safely too... Btw, you are still very young, but you have a 'far sighted' view for the future, very thoughtful, keep it up Thanks for sharing, I truly enjoy reading it. SIgnature? Hmmmmm. Well, my signature looks really simple, but as it turns out its really complicated. I say that because there was this one time I had to withdraw cash from my bank account. It was for buying a new PC so it was quite a huge amount so i cudn withdraw it from the ATM in one go so i decided to use a cheque. so i give this guy the cheque and he points out that the withdrawal is beyond the outstation cheque limit, and i was like WTF. So i made another cheque, n evrythin was fine and this guy was like the signatures dont match. so i made a third cheque, and again this guy was like the signatures still dont match. Finally i told him that thats the best i can match my signature. So he took my ID and stuff and finally accepted the cheque. That was embarassing. Who the hell mismatches their own signature on a frickin cheque?? LOL!!

Hi, It did happen to me too. I need to withdraw money from my saving passbook which was open long long time ago. So I told the bank officer I can't remember the signature, so they show me the signature using the UV light. I tried to sign my old signature but not so successful..after a few times, he just verified it with my identity card and allows me to withdraw. Wow, how our signature had change and evolve through time In actual fact when we sign, our two signatures do not match, there would be some variation in those two signature, however, bank people matches our signature with their record through our style and some other features of our signatures. I think your signature may not be the basis if you are going to be successful or not, but it is on how you work, working for the correct reasons and saving money for the correct reasons. My signature is a unique one guess, it not a simple initial and I think i made it that way so as to have like a personal pride, because it is like a signature of an intellectual person or I don't know, because I made it not that simple.

I think signature is like fingerprint. Only one kind per person and no one have same thing about it. This is our unique. Although two persons with same name, they definitely won't have same signature. My signature is written from buttom left to upper right. So it's like flying. I don't know why i can create such signature. But the fact is i realized it is uniquely me. Happy mylotting.
