Hey guys, I love mylot and surfing the web, but I'm really keen on getting my work done way before the deadline. Anyone know any cures for procrastination? (: I've heard some internet filters give you little 'quota' sessions of web-browsing, but haven't found a suitable one yet.

Make the place you work have no distractions. When I need to do my schoolwork, I stay away from my computer so I wouldn't be tempted to go online and mylot or something. If you have to work on the computer, maybe you can turn off the internet connection for awhile

Exactly. Eliminating distractions in your work place is KEY. Distractions are usually habits that seem more important when they're not. The best way I think to go about stopping procrastinating it to motivate yourself. Motivation in the fact that you understand how great of an achievement you're making by stopping this nasty habit.

Hey there, thanks to both of you for posting! (: I'm going to try out both your suggestions (: Maybe limit computer recreation time to weekends. Hopefully I'll be able to get things done asap :3

I have the same problem friend. I do this all the time, I KNOW I have work to do and I know I should do it as soon as possible but once I get on the computer I get so easily distracted and afterward I feel horribly guilty about not accomplishing my work to the best of my ability, BUT FEAR NOT THERE IS A SOLUTION! The best way in my experience to stop procrastinating is to CHANGE YOUR HABITS. People are machines of habit, we all have routines and we follow them in some manner every day. For example I get up and immediately get some coffee because I'm a caffeine addict XD You might have similar habits and you need to start changing them NOW! Don't wait ( procrastinate ) to do this change of habits because you will ultimately lose confidence in it's ability to work. I'm assuming you go directly on the computer at the end of the day like so many people do, well...setup your computer book marks or things you almost instinctively go to when you first get on to something productive. Not only is it a passive reminder but you're also doing something that needs to get done. If this is worked into all of your habits it can really change how much you procrastinate! Good luck! =D
