Where did your faith in God start?

In other words, when did you meet God for the first time and how did you know it wasn't just your imagination talking to you? Do you think that if you had been born into a different religion, you'd still worship the same god you do now?

started from family, my parents. i watch religious tv programs (denominations within Christianity) during growing-up years. ...the bottom line is, we just have to test every faith including our own. it is a personal decision we must all take to believe or not to believe. mine is to believe by faith. faith means believing in something you cannot see. for me God is spirit which we cannot see in this physical world.

I agree with you, and that's fine. it's just- how do you select WHICH God to have faith in? Do you just go with the one your family gave you? You can't honestly test every religion. So what do you do?

i won't go into details. mine is based on conscience, motives, common sense, not on somebodys charisma, conversational skills,.. besides God knows our heart, our inner being, i know He will lead us. for now, i'll just say we're all equally sinful and not perfect, and let us not be judgemental
