Hi psychotaz, I would say because they are acting as they would do in real life, the sort of person who I would go out of my way to avoid, confrontational and beligerant. There is no need for name calling or any such nonsense in real life or online, you must ignore it. If it is very bad press the report button and report it and the defamotory remarks will be removed. I had it happen to me here yesterday but on pm and now this person has fortuantely been banned. So my advice would be ignore and report. Why try to reason with a person lacking basic manners.

Hi thea09, I am inclined to agree with u. But ignoring - does it solve the problem. I mean today somebody may do it to us, and we may choose to ignore them. The next time they will again try with somebody else. That person may not be aware that ignoring such confrontational personalities is the right solution, and may increase the overall sparks causing subsequent remorse to themselves. There must be a way out other than avoiding the beligerant person.

Well that person must be responsible for their own behaviour and I have no interest at all in making the situation worse by telling a grown person how they should or should not act. If they haven't learn manners yet it's a bit late to start educating them and I do not see it as my duty to do so. So I would stick with ignoring that person and as I said report them if they were abusive. If they carry on like that on here people will soon learn to avoid that person anyway and their reputation will suffer.

Some people can't stand it when an outsider points out the mistakes of their family members, even though they might be complaining about the same person all the time. This is what happened to you and I protect myself from such a backlash by avoiding the use of harsh words. I don't even give the person advice if I don't know him/her well enough.i just avoid such discussions because people are not ready to listen to you with an unbiased mind.

well if they are not ready to hear it they should not ask because they might not like what they hear or see, i guess next time i just won't respond because people ask for advice then don't like what they hear so whats the point.

I think often the people who react badly to hearing what someone else thinks even when they are the one that asked for the opinion are the people who are looking for reassurance that they are doing the right thing...and when they dont hear what they were hoping to hear it upsets them. Its one of the darned if you do darned if you dont kind of situations. Those same people tend to be the ones that get mad if you refuse to share your opinion when they ask.

My friend, Some people just want to hear what they think. They don´t want to exchange ideas or opinions. That´s why I try not to get into discussions about politics or religion. Although I read some posts about those subjects. Last year, theres was a wise mylotter who explained about religion in India. It was very interesting.

I agree too. When they talk about their problem, they don't really want to hear what people have to say but they want to hear only opinion from those who agree with them. It is more to complaining rather than asking for opinion.
