How the discussions are listed as 'today's top' and hot?

Our discussions in my lot have been listed under various tabs like today's top, new, recent. In this serious we are able to see one more tab as 'hot'. How they are listing as today's top and 'hot' discussions? Are the number of responses plays the role for them to list as top? Is the hot discussions are listed as per the matter of discussions?Could you please let me know if you have any idea about these two?Because the discussions in these two tabs are confusing me.

I've worked out what unresolved means.
They are discussions of your own, that you haven't given a best response to (hard, if there's only one post!) When I "br'ed" a few of mine, they disappeared from the list. People can still add content to them, though.

Yes.If we have chosen the best response to our discussions, then they are said to be the resolved one and others are listed under the unresolved discussions. But the hot and top discussions are much confusing us.They have received even 3(hot), 4(top) responses.Some time, the time of response may be one of the factors for the discussions to be listed as top or hot discussions. May some other member who are familiar with the procedures of the above ,explain about this.Thanks for your response.

I wonder myself. i'd guess hot topics are those attracting the most interest or posts in discussions.
I don't know what unresolved means, though. I notice it's another recent arrival on the tabs lists.

Both the hot and top discussions are having more responses or few responses if we see them. If we choose the best response to our discussions, then the discussion is said to be resolved.Until then, the discussions will be available under the unresolved tab only.It is better to select the unresolved discussions and to choose the best response, when we don't have interest to participate in discussions.I have seen in some discussions that choosing the best response is also gives some earnings.But as I don't have much discussions, I am not able to check it separately.You may try for that.Thanks for the participation in this discussion.

Because my discussion, have never become 'today's top discussion'.

May be. But the today's top discussions are listed then and there and how will they review the quality of the discussions immediately.Also some of the top discussions have only 4 responses.I did not see the discussions with less than 4 responses in this category. May the 4 responses be the minimum limit for that.At the same time the hot discussions has received even only 3 responses.Some other member may know better than us.Thanks for responding to this discussion.

I am not sure how they pick them, but mine have neer mad it there as of yet, but then I really don't start all that many discussions either. I have really never tried to get it in the top, as I didn't think they would anyway. It really doesn't matter tome one way or the other if my discussion would ever get there. I just mainly post responses as it is easier for me than starting discussions. It is hard to come up with a good topic to discuss anyway. That is the hardest part of it. So far I have not mind about these things and I did not even noticed for my discussions there though the number of discussions of mine are only about 10. I used to start discussions and I will leave some comments to the responses if I get. Today, when I was free, I browsed all these things and confused with them.Also I checked the FAQ,guidelines and found nothing about them.But it is sure the number of responses is not having much importance in that.But they may have certain minimum number of responses for listing.Some are having lot of responses and some discussions are having only 3 or 4 responses.Thanks for your response and I am looking for some more responses to know about.

Hm.. Hi there, in my opinion, I think the hot discussion is depends on the rating from the user, and the count of the response. If we open to a discussion, we will able to see a button + and the title is "Rate positive to this discussion" (If I not wrong), I think the hot and the top discussion is the discussion that get the most positive rate from the user of myLot and also a discussion that has many response to it, Yeah that just my opinion, To all of myLot member, Do you agree with me? or you just have the other opinion? Let's share together..!!

The rating of the discussion may one of the reasons and I did not even think of that.Great.Though we are not sure of that, now I am thinking about the possibilities. It should be. But the number of responses may not play important role in them as we are able to see only three or four discussions for the top and hot discussions.I really appreciate your response and no one so far mentioned about the rating as they may the factor of listing under the top and hot tabs.Thanks for your response and I am eagerly waiting for some other responses if any.
