Do you believe that genius and idiot can be the same person?

Hi there! Well I wouldn't call someone an idiot if he/she is not good at something things. For me, the word idiot can be a little harsh I think. Not everyone has talents on everything field and no one can be good on everything. There are some who really excels on a particular talent. But what's important is that we use our talent to reach something. Like what your classmate did. He's not an idiot cause he knows how to use his talents very well. Ciao!

He is a genius in his field, probably because he focused his mind into one subject. This behaviour is quite common, since most of us are not as open minded as we think we are. He cannot be said to be an idiot. He can be said to lack certain skills in life. It is rather sad though, because he would be next to helpless in many situations. A person like this can become a recluse, with all the relevant characteristics like being aloof, keeping to himself, and avoiding social gatherings.

I know someone just like that. He is a math genius as well. He excels in university, is very sociable, and is quite the go getter. The thing is when it comes to the menial things, I find him a bit lacking in common sense. He seems to do the simple things in a roundabout way. I guess sometimes people are just so smart and are so used to solving difficult problems that simple ones confound them.

There are people who are good at some things while they are not so good at other. That's how the brain works. There are some people who good at problem solving while others are good at remembering stuff. There are people who are street smart while others are book smart. Humans are not perfect and hence we cannot assume a person to be good at everything.
