It is very expensive to go to the hospital now a days that's why I'm stop going to hospital for check ups. The last time that I went to the doctor when I'm have a heavy menstrual bleeding for a month last March. Yes I agree many afraid to know there condition if they go to the doctor for check up. They rather self medicate than to go for check ups.

You are saying the exactly right things here that most of us don't go to check because we fear that there might something wrong with our bodies . We have changed this thought .

hi here in America its pretty expensive to check into a hospital for tests unless you are ill or ailing.no but I get a checkupat my doctors every year,if I miss his office nurse sends a reminder. I am 82 now and Ihave diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis so must be checked each year to stay as healthy as possible. my insurance covers that by the way.

I'm so happy to get your responses here . It's hard for me to imagin a 82 year old person is writing here. I wish i can be active as you when i reach 80 . Well my father also suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure . But lucky it is both of my elder sisiters are nurses and they can check the body condition for him very often. Good luck. I love you.

While I know that health professionals do encourage us to have our bodies checked up at least annually, but the reality is that most people don't. In fact, I myself have not done a full body checkup since about 3 years ago when I had to go overseas to study. I think the reason why most people don't go for full body checkups frequently is because it is too much of a hassle for them, especially when they have apparently nothing wrong with their current health state. Only those with health conditions or illnesses that are "showing" or "visible" are more likely to do a body checkup. I guess it's high time I changed my attitude towards this too, and I should start getting full body checkups at the hospital at least annually. It will be hard, considering I am working a 9 to 5.30 shift, but I will certainly try.....
