Will you go for plastic surgery??

Malaysia
August 29, 2009 10:46am CST
My friend asked me this very question before, and I said that I won't. But in other case, if i met an accident, and it needed a plastic surgery procedure to make me feel better, and be myself, then I will go. I wondering how many of us will go for plastic surgery in their normal situation. I appreciate what God created for me, and how my parents made me. No offense to anyone that did plastic surgery before, but I feel like if I go for a nose job, I'm not 'myself' anymore. I'm an Asian, and I have an Asian's nose, if you know what I mean. have you do a plastic surgery before? If you haven't will you go for a plastic surgery, and what kind of job it will be? Again, I have no offense toward anyone, frankly I'm just curios in this matter. Everyone has their own perception, and i have a deep respect in it. Cheers and have a nice day =)

Yes I would, but only in extreem circumstances. Certainly if I was in an accident and disfigured or had cancer and needed face reconstruction or body reconstruction. However I would certainly not do anything like Michael Jackson did and end up with no nose. He was a good-looking man and he ruined his face. Looking at him about the time he did the thriller album he was quite handsome. About 15 years later he was grotesque with no nose. I agree if you are black you should have a black nose or if you are Asian you should have an Asian nose. Unfortunately some Chinese and Japanese want to westernize their eyes, however this is generally a more simple operation unlike a general facelift. I am disturbed by the Western abuse of boob jobs. I think these should go the way of Chinese foot binding and female genital mutilation. I can understand why people have a nose job when it is grossly outside the norm.

Hi mariposaman, thanks for responding here. I like your comment, if you're asian, proud of it and be like one. But i don't really sure what you mean by westernize their eyes? You mean by contact lens or the small operation to get double eye lids?

well, like you, if i happen to have an accident (God forbids!) that gives me a need for a surgery then i will go... but undergoing a plastic surgery just to enhance or whatever i think i will not go for it... first of all, its expensive...i don't have money to spend for it... second, i think its painful and im afraid of the possible side effects and i am very much contented with what i have now... have a nice day!

Hi de_angel! I totally agree with you! I believe that God created me the way I am and I want to just leave well enough alone! I may not be beautiful and perfect, but I am me! I worked for a plastic surgeon and I saw what some people went through and I just didn't understand! If there was something really wrong, as you said and I had an accident or something happened medically and I needed to have plastic surgery then I would, but otherwise I would never voluntarily do it! My mother had two eye lifts and one face lift because she is very vain and wanted to look younger! I did not think she needed it but that is what she wanted!

Hi opal, thanks for posting here. wow, you see someone went through a plastic surgery before? That was very brave of you. i just watch it from the television, and can't stand it. I really scared something might goes wrong. Anyhow, I'm still young, not need any eye lifts or face lift, so it is hard for me to comment on why got people want to do so. I If I'm really in their shoes, i mean when i get older, I can't be sure whether I will stick on my current stand. i just wish I will never ever put my face and body under a knife and needle.

Whatever they look are, my friend. I really don't like. Because for me it seems that you have a relationship with a fake human. It seems that you have kiss a fake human and or robot. how about you? Do you like them so much because they are look pretty than they are before?

I did comment in other people's response. After the surgery, they might look gorgeous, having 'brad pit's chest'. But if he is my boyfriend, i don't think i want to touch his chest implant. I prefer a 'flat' rather than a fake :p

Hi aerous, thanks for posting here. Yea, some of them can look more gorgeous and sexy, but not all of them. It had been proven plastic surgery can go wrong. I'm just feel sorry for those with bad result. I agree with you, I'm a girl, a man with nice chest can look very sexy, but i don't want my man with a chest implant, it just look fake, and pretending having something that you don't really have.

I used to be very much against plastic surgery. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized why not? Yes G-d did create us. But when I read my Bible, it also says we are to enjoy his blessings. So like buying a new expenses (whatever), we're suppose to enjoy the things he's given us. So why not plastic surgery? Like you said, if you got in a car crash, and broke your face, would you not get plastic surgery to fix it? And would you not consider that ability, a blessing from G-d? Wouldn't you enjoy that blessing? Well of course. So if it works there, why not had a bent nose or wanted (something else) done? Again, wouldn't it be a blessing to enjoy that G-d gave you? So I decided that if I ever got married, and my wife really wanted something done, and that it would be a benefit to her, then I would by all means support it, whereas before I think I'd have been against it. Who am I to question a blessing from the creator of the universe?

Which then begs the question, are women that are naturally endowed constantly sinning? I find that highly unlikely. I would say that this has more to do with dress and how they present themselves, rather than their physical proportions. For example I have a cousin who's wife is extremely attractive. Yet regardless of her size and curves, always dresses appropriately, and modestly. Another woman may need plastic surgery to look like her, yet how she dresses might be vastly different, or exactly the same. As with all blessing, you can choose to enjoy them in a right and good way, or in a wrong and sinful way. It would be no different than getting a new car and being selfish, and prideful, and look how great I am with my new car. Or thanking G-d for what you have and stopping to help someone broke down, or give a lift to someone at work.

What I understood from the bible, there is no restriction saying that you are forbidden to get a plastic surgery (anyone is welcome to correct me if i am wrong about this matter). So, it is always every individual choice to go for plastic surgery or not. But the bible also said, don't make other people stumble, means that everyone have their own responsibilities doing their best not make other people from stumble. For an example, in my opinion, an extreme large boobs can make somebody stumble, people eyes will follow the boobs that pop out from the shirt, and people may imagine you in their dirty mind.

You are correct, most of the time, the way we dress can make people stumble. But it also depends on where the situation happened. The modesty standard in my country can be differ from yours. Even you dress decently, but with an attractive figure (i mean big boobs, most Asian have small figure), you always can make people stumbled in their mind. In my opinion, we can appreciate what we had, and don't have to go through the unnecessary pain, and create the stumble factors for other people. Anyhow, we just human being, we are not perfect, if people still can stumble, after we dress appropriately, hopefully they were just stumbled in their mind. Have a nice day :)

I am so scared of the word ' surgery ' so It is for sure I will avoid go for any Plastic surgery unless It is really needed, like meet an accident. Although it is quite advanced the technology now,but to play safe, just stick to our natural looks. That's the look that given to us and we have to appreciate it.

NO no.. I will definitely not go for any plastic surgery because it's so unnatural.. lol =D Everybody do age along with time, and it's something common.. There are be many reasons to go under the knife, but who are they doing it for?? Themselves or for others?? If one only care about appearance in life, then i'm sure that they will be missing out on alot more about what life is truly about.. haha =D

Yup, nothing beats the real us ^_^ So what if one can be looking pretty and attractive on the outside, but only to be someone cunning, or even heartless?? haha =D And even if they were to fall in love, does their partner love them for their looks or character?? If it's looks, how safe can their relationship be, when they start aging, only to reveal their true self?? Isn't that a form of cheating?? haha =D

If it weren't so expensive (and I didn't abhor drs and hospitals) I would go for a tummy tuck and lift my large boobs. Lately I have thought I wouldn't mind just a tightening around the eyes. A friend had this simple task done and it made a world of difference to her face. Who would have guessed! I doubt that I will ever have anything done, but would be nice to tuck and firm as time goes on!!!

Hi friend, Thanks for sharing your point here. sometimes a small task can really made a big difference. When I'm getting older, i hope that i wont put my face and body under knife or injection (hope that i still stick with my point). I'm 24 now, I'm started to used eye cream to prevent wrinkles around the eyes, hope that help. Who don't want to have a firm look right? Have a nice day :)

I actually went for it under duress originally from my ex-boyfriend but was extremely happy with the results after I had done it. You have to be able to be happy with yourself first. If you get it done and you're still not happy with yourself, what point is there in doing it?

Yep, be happy and satisfied with yourself. It can be different from one person to another, and sometimes the influence we get from other people can make us not happy with ourselves. Great you are happy with what you did =)

I would do plastic surgery. I actually plan on it when I am older. I am a heavy chested girl, and dont want to be saggy in my ages of life. So I plan to have my chest firmed and kept the way that it is today :) other than that I dont know much of what I would do other than that.

I like how you said that its maintenance. i had never looked at it that way before. I am not transforming anything. Just keeping up with what I already have :) some people do get way out of hand on their plastic surgery. It cant be healthy. But I don tknow. I cant say why people do what they do. But it must be something that is worth it to them.

Sometimes a surgery might be needed, to look nicer and feel better. As what I understand, you not adding something on you. I don't really think in this case you are transforming, and it should not have anything to pay for maintenance right?

Lucky of her because she did it not that obvious, only simple surgery. But no one ever react or ask her about that but we her friends notice about her changes. thank's.

Yes i would have plastic surgery and i have had it before, about 3 years ago now. If you feel the need to have it done and it will benefeit you not only physically but emotionally then i dont see the problem. People mess around with themselves all of the time, doing their hair, makeup, tanning, nails etc etc that is all some form of beauty so i dont really see plastic surgery as any different, only on a larger scale.
30 Aug 09
What i had done didnt hurt me as i was put to sleep but the pain wasnt really as bad as people make it out to be. I just dont see it as any different from any of the other procedures that women go through in the name of beauty, and even some of those minor ones are painful. You have to do what makes you happy, as you only live once. I would hate to be in my 60's/70's and regret so many things that i had wished i had done when i was younger.
• Malaysia
1 Sep 09
We always try to live our life with no regret. This concept will be different from one person to another. I scared I'll be regret if i go to get a tattoo or plastic surgery, you might regret when you were 70 thinking back all the things you can do when you were young, but not doing it. **Live with no regret** (Maybe I should say 'less' regret)

Hi polo_princess, thanks for sharing your experience here. Was it hurt during the surgery? I saw on TV before, you're not fully unconscious during the nose job procedure. You can see what the doctor/surgeon doing on your face. Yea, most of the times, plastic surgery can benefit people emotionally. I mean if you have something on your face, it can be very hard not to notice people reaction when seeing our face. But i definitely not support boobs implant. No offense, but for me a boobs implant is one of the main factor that can draw a guy to behave with no respect toward a woman. I know I am a woman. and I feel like a woman, even I don't have a very very big boobs. I'm still and forever a woman. lol.

I would not go for a plastic surgery. I'm already satisfied in my image. I really don't understand why people tend to go for this and don't trust their beauty as what is given to them which it's purely the work of nature. People see plastic surgery as a need nowadays and their satisfaction indeed is not met if they don't undergo this plastic surgery. Another reason is financial. I really don't want to waste my money on this one just because it can make me look good. Instead why not buy something more important than beauty. Food, clothing, shelter, and other needs which is useful for you and for the next generation.

30 Aug 09
Hi marctiu, thanks for responding. The amount to pay for the plastic surgery can be very costly, and this amount can provide us with a lot of things as you said food, clothing and surgery. I don't know whether re-construction of length of the legs can be considered as a plastic surgery or not. i think i watch on Discovery Channel before, in order to get a driving license, you need to have certain height. This girl, who is not really tall need to get a license, so she went for the surgery. And the result is very negative and she not even can walk as before. It's very pity to see the result. Sometimes it is the environment that made us to make a choice. even the choice is absolute from us, but the influence from the others can be very strong. Have a nice day..

plastic surgery is the right of every person. but I think we do not need to do plastic surgery. unless it out of necessity. needs in this regard is had to do surgery because our facial defects due to accidents. we should appreciate what we can from the gods. if we do surgery because for the add beautiful, we do not appreciate god. God has purposefully created each human being.

Hi indahfth, you are correct, everyone totally has their own right to go for plastic surgery and they are the one who has to face the consequences themselves. In my opinion, I won't do plastic surgery to enhance the beauty, and overwrite the creation that God created for me. Unless if I'm not common as other people, let say I have a harelip, then I will go for one.

I would not have plastic surgery to change my appearance! I am who I am and that is it! The only way I approve of plastic surgery is to rebuild someone to as close as possible to their original appearance after an accident! Plastic surgery is amazing for rebuilding burns victims and car accident victims and the like, but paying money to alter your own look and feed your ego is just stupid if you ask me!

Plastic surgery really help a lot for people involving in an accident, and the burn victims. It can help them restore back the confidence they have before. People's ego can be never ending, and thus result in multiple surgeries, one after another, and totally change the original them, as we can see from some of the celebrities. Have a nice day :)
