Elbow muscle pain, ripped elbow muscle, IT HURTS!!!!

I've not been online much this month, a couple weeks ago I got a "hair" up my butt,
and decided to move some furniture here and do some cleaning, which I detest doing,
and somehow I managed to once again hurt my right elbow which already has a torn
ripped muscle on top/to the side of it, did that YEARS AGO while I was still working
its been a royal pain all these many years BUT NOW I've done some other sort of
damage to that same frickin elbow now on the bottom underside of it;
Went and got an X-ray yesterday they were supposed to do a CT-Scan but somehow
the hospital here didn't get the appointment from the doctor...AARRGGhhh!
so for the last couple of weeks while waiting to get in to see my Doctor to get
this all set up, dumb dumb me had missed my earlier doctor's appointment on the 8th
of this month, and then I couldn't get in to see him until the 24th, so by missing
my scheduled appointment I had to wait until I got in to see him so as to meet
my monthly spenddown...otherwise any visit to the ER or tests done would have
come out of my pocket which is EMPTY, ITS ALWAYS EMPTY...ARRRGGHH!
THIS has been one long month, and one I'm not going to yet again meet payout from
mylot either, this stupid elbow hurts me so badly it at times has felt like a bone
sticking me (out of place bone) you know? Tis very very painful and very painful
to sit and try to type ANYTHING....
and now since most everything I do is reflected on my left arm/wrist/ etc..its been
killing me too the last several days...I just give up, I swear I do;
have you ever ripped or torn a muscle??
any muscle?
it doesn't feel good I know that but once I go in Monday for the CT-Scan I hope
to finally know what the heck I did while moving that stupid furniture around;
((miss you all))

You have the same brain power I do. (No, I'm not slamming you...) I had that total knee replacement in June and a couple of weeks ago I decided to move furniture so that I could move the puppy pen in the family room. Well two of the items were 6 foot tall book cases made from pressed wood. Elephants are lighter than those two book cases!!! Needless to say, my knee hurt like a sob, and it swelled to the size of a basketball. I'm still paying for that workout. Why is it we don't stop to think about what might happen if we over do?
I'm not a big cleaner either, I usually do my best cleaning when I am angry...so I've done a lot recently and managed to get a ton of stuff sorted out of the house and to the thrift store. (I used to donate to Goodwill, but it ends up in our local Goodwill where a friend rebuys it for me. I send it to a distant thrift shop that has donation centers locally. Man it is a total pain!!!
I hope you're icing the arm and elbow. If this is a chronic condition, you could get a setup where you use a microphone to dictate your postings into the computer. It's a program called Dragon Naturally Speaking, and it allows you to use the computer without having to do a lot of typing. There are a couple of other programs that do the same thing, but I took a class on the Dragon Naturally Speaking program.
Take care of yourself and Khuay, Willy, Dinglebeary, Murphy(the cats), Katie, Monica, Little Bit, Abby (the dogs), and I send our love, hugs and best hopes.

Dreamweaver, Please PM me...I may be able to help you out on the one item I mentioned. I can see you saying "What was that item again???".
I got out of PT a little while ago, I am getting another month of PT because it isn't working as well as it should. With my luck if I were to get a used one, it would be for the right knee and someone would install it upside down so when I walk I kick myself in the a$$!

HI Loverbear and all of her "babies"
Oh Lordy me woman you had total knee replacements? UGH!!
my cousin just had her first surgery done on the one leg, sounds awful
to tell you the truth;
I hope you are doing well by now??
I had no idea there was a program like that I looked it up and YIKES!
just like everything else the cost is way over my head...I'd have to sell
a kidney..but I will keep an eye out for any "used ones maybe" for sale?
Crap! Why does everything have to be so stinkin high priced??
but to have a program like that would just be a blessing for me,
my hands/wrists get so bad in the fall/winter time its murder!!
as much as I use the computer I'm always amazed at when I find out
about such great ideas and products like what you mentioned and DUMB DUMB ME
who lives in her own little world had NO IDEA about it...DUH!!!
I swear I need to get my head outta my a$$...LOL!!!
you say you also took a class to use this? is it hard to learn?
I don't know if this old PC could even handle something like that but
boy as I said it sure would be a blessing to have...
thanks for the great idea maybe old Santa will get me one...HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA!!
hugs to you and your critter's...(G)!

I miss you too. Gee whiz, what the heck did you do that for. OUCH!! I once torn all my ligaments in my right wrist, I'm right handed too. My wrist totally dislocated, I was in a car wreck. When you rip or tear things its usually worse then a break. Breaks heal quicker then tears. I do hope it gets better soon and maybe there is some kind of support they can put on it to help it. My elbow hurts just thinking about yours. Take care and hope to see you more often, its hell to be poor and old on top of it. I'm not just talking about you, ME too. Hope you make payout this month, every little bit helps. Its been months since I made payout, I am at $9.32 right now, don't know if I will do it neiter.

HI Ya Polly;
Well finally I am getting around to try to answer back to some posts here;
GGEEEZZZ!!
I don't know why I did that tell ya the truth...LOL! It wasn't planned
trust me;
it just amazes me with all my crazy aches and pains on this body;
I don't know how I keep going some days...
OUch !! Sounds like you had quite an ordeal there too dear friend;
Yes I agree those rips and tears we do to our muscles takes way longer
than a good old fashioned clean break..(G)! I don't want that either
if you know what I mean;
we are the same age both 48 and feel like well I personally feel like
I have the body of a 99++ year old some days and not my 48 years old.
Well I didn't make payout again dang it! I just could not stand to
sit and try to type after I hurt my elbow even now its starting to
stiffen up badly stupid body!!
Its really sad that I am so dependent on that little payout I get from
mylot you know? How pathetic am I??
take care dear friend and no more injuries for you ok??
I'll try and do the same but I'm making no promises, that dark cloud
that hangs over me just WILL NOT GO AWAY...I WISH!!!!!

We miss you too. Do torn muscles never heal, then? You need voice identification software so you can talk and the computer can type. Man, if I had that, I would make out like crazy. I hope they get you healthy soon.

Hi Sweet Gerty;
I'm not really sure you know if torn muscles ever heal?
Let's just say that the muscle I ripped on top of my elbow YEARS ago
has never healed properly but then being alone I have to do so many
things I should NOT be doing you know?
I just don't have any choice but to do things for myself and on my own;
it sucks!!
stupid me had no idea about voice identification programs DUH!!
but boy to have something like that would sure help me out you know?
it would be a real blessing to have, I will have to look into this
sort of thing and try to find myself something with fall and winter
knocking on our door here I really could use something like that;
thanks for the great suggestion!!
love & hugs!!

Yay!! She IS alive!!! But, injured. I'm sorry. I knew there was some reason for your not being on here or emailing me or anything. Did you read about my Shady cat? I hope your elbow gets better and that it's not a "worse case scenario" kind of thing. It doesn't take much sometimes - doing things that seem so simple and suddenly - WHAM! Something you didn't even know you used begins to hurt with a grab like a knife. Yeah - been there. Don't like it one bit.

My heart goes out to you my friend! Ibuprofen works best for me. I don't like aspirin or Tylenol very much. I hope you heal quickly. Wrap it up in an ace bandage too.
Take care, honey!

HI Kellyjeanne:, Hi little Mija:
Yeah I don't like aspirin either, I can't take it, makes me "hurl" (G)!!!
I have my darvocet that I take for my neck and back pain and my wonderful lidoderm
pain patches that I get each month Lord I can't imagine life without those, they
are a true blessing, I would never be able to afford them if I had to pay full
price for them I get 90 a month and if I had to pay full price it would run me
$600.00 just for that..CRAZY HUH?
but I do wrap it up all the time, and I have elastic bandages that I use too
I wrap them over the pain patches to hold them better in place as I bend my elbow,
the worst pain is when you swing that arm behind you , you know to (wipe your butt)
then IT IS SCREAMING IN PAIN...I just don't have a clue as to what I've done???
love & hugs to you too dear friend

LOL! That made me laugh about the 'wiping the butt' part because when I seriously sprained both arms it wasn't until 3 months later that I was able to properly wipe my butt and that was soooooo frustrating! I'm so glad that you seem to have everything you need to heal well!
You have a great day, Jan! Mija says meow!

HI KellyJeanne: LOL! Well I've always been known to tell it like it is,
and wiping my big old butt is an issue right now with this stupid elbow..LOL!
Thank God, my PC is not equipped with a video camera huh?? If they could see
me as I sit here and type, then they'd have this awful hideous "visual"
of me trying to wipe my big old butt...ROTFL!! BLEH!!
right now my butt is killing me as I've sat in this chair almost two hours
and have accomplished NOTHING on this slow butted machine...(sigh)!
I'm a mess huh??
I just hurt from head to toe basically;
So how are things with you???
What's dear Mija been up too lately??
Always good to hear from you...
Got any good butt-wiping stories??

Hi... you can use helpful devices like a chair that forms with your body position and pads for elbows. Try different method of relaxation for sometime and try keeping your body in proper position. They say its all in the positioning. Just find your center of gravity and try to hold that position because this way there is equal distribution of body weight to all muscles in your body, thus relieving you from muscle pain.

Hi Marctiu: Thank you for all the great tips and advice I just wish
this wreck of a body could take advantage of this;
I have neck and back injuries and aches and pains from head to toe,
and then my most recent injury as you know was the muscle elbow ;
I wish I had money to get one of those amazing sounding chairs that
would conform to my body too (G)! That would be awesome!
OH and Welcome to Mylot, hope you are having a good time here
and thank you again for the tips and advice;

is that a free check up and all the xray were all free? anyways, i think it is very different in your place. here in my country the public hospital is not that good so we prefer to do it in private hospital if one can afford it and so we don't need to wait that long or if we missed an appointment there are lots of available doctor who can do the check up as early as possible. but i admit doing it in public hospital involves lots of days waiting for the appointment so that is why people mostly who have some few money to spare will definitely visit the private hospital and doctors. but going to doctors here is not as expensive than in other countries like US. but recently the cost of doctor check has gone up really high. it is almost $18 now before it was just $10 mostly. anyways, i think that it is very worth it than waiting in queue.

Hey jan~ Sorry to hear about you elbow. I know how painful
that must be and how miserable and annoying and frustrated
you must be feeling. I have two torn ligaments in my right
knee from when I dislocated it and didn't know and walked
on it for three weeks in excrutiating pain until I found out
that it was dislocated an it was popped back into place! And
that really hurt like hell, but then it felt better once it
was back in the socket! But, by the time the damage was already
done! And then last year I hit the same knee in the same place
and re-injured it and was left with a huge bump that never
went away and neither has the pain! I walked with a can for
over six months and the pain was again excrutiating! I look
like I have another knee growing out the side of my real
knee! So I can definitely feel for you! I also broke my
right shoulder so I know what it's like to not be able to
use your arm and I'm right handed so that was unbelievably
horrible! I hope you find out what's wrong and get better
really soon! And stop moving furniture will ya!Hugs, Opal

We miss you, too! I just hope everything goes well with your CT-Scan and your doctor appointment. I have problems with my right elbow bothering me occasionally. I think mine's more in the skin, though. It feels like somebody sticking a pin in it. That's the best way I can describe it. I just put some kind of moisturizer on it and that seems to help.
I've pulled a muscle in my back before. I use to exercise at the gym all the time and that's where I did it. I don't remember what it was I was doing at the time but I went to the doctor and he said it was a pulled muscle. Other than that, I haven't had many problems with my back except the time when I got two compressed vertebraes when I was thrown from a horse. That was in 1978. Please know that I will be praying for you. Kathy.
