Ever peel the skin off grapes?

My daughter went through this phase of not eating any grapes unless the skin was peeled off. Thankfully though she now will eat them with the skin on. She'll only eat the red grapes though. My son will only eat the green grapes. Go figure. Have you ever peeled the skin off of grapes for yourself or someone else?

It is funny the things we will do if we get bored. I guess that is why I tried peeling grapes a time or two.

When I was little, I would always peel the skin off my grapes. I never asked anyone to do it. I would always do it myself, and it was the only way I would eat grapes. Now I eat them with the skin. Luckily my daughter has never done this. And we never discriminate, we eat all types of grapes.

I think the problem is the skin gets in little kid's teeth and it drives them crazy.

i use to do that when i am at home eating grapes, but when i am outside i dont. it will make my hands so sticky and it will be messy so i would rather eat the grapes with skin when i am outside. my children are not picky eaters Thank God so i dont have problems if what colors the grapes are and if i peeled them or not. does your son eats the red grapes if you peel it?

How old was your daughter when she did this? I did this too while I was growing up. I was maybe 7 or 8 years old, at the time. I gave up on it soon after as I was the one that had to do it and it was so darn time consuming. Happy mylotting!

I think she was about 3 at the time. It was pretty funny now that I think about it.

I love them both and do peel the skin off, but I have a top plate, dentures and it is so hard to chew grape skins :) It is not easy to get those blasted skins off either ! But, if I eat grapes, I have to :)

I am going to guess your daughter learned that somewhere. Either someone did it for her or she saw someone do it. If your daughter is old enough to verbalize it, she is old enough to do it herself. My husband complained when I bought green grapes..said he did not like them. Then he went and bought red grapes and now he only eats green grapes. They definitely each have their own flavor.

I have never peeled the skin off of grapes for anyone before. I am sure there are alot of people out there that do it though. Too bad it happened in your household. We eat them with the skin on.

Hello Shar. I always peel the skin off grapes when I eat. I do this for my baby as well. It is hard to eat grapes with the grapes. I like grapes though they are not cheap. We have had quite a lot grapes this summer. I think that it is good to our health.

No, I've never peeled the skin off grapes, never heard of anyone doing that before. I guess kids will do strange things like that, tho.

I know children go through phases of being picky with their food. However it sounds like yours were never really that hungry so they were allowed the luxury of being picky with grapes. Personally, I would lose patience with such an attitude and would not give them grapes until they smartened up.

It wasn't a big deal. I think the skin of the grapes is what bothered her. They get stuck in little teeth easily.

I think I may have done that once or twice as a child but I got over it. The texture of a peeled grape is not all that great.

I have done it for fun, just to see if I could do it. I would not do it for real for anyone. I guess you buy a lot of mixed fruit.

I never understood why people to that. A skinned grape is kind of like an eyeball, it's really disgusting to me! The darker the grape, the better it is for you. Tell your son that purple grapes build muscles!

Hey there Shar19 I think one of boys went through a stage of wanting me to do that and in the end I told him that he either eats it as grapes are meant to be eaten or choose another fruit to eat!! LOL

LOL..no..I have never peeled grapes. I guess it would make them taste a little different. Wow I bet it was kind of hard to peel them though. my daughter loves grapes but she don't like the ones with the seeds in them. I don't like the sour ones. I like them sweet.

It was difficult to peel them. They get all smooshy and sticky.

Hi Shar19 Yes, I've ever done it, even until now, if I have time, of course! That's my habit since I was child, don't wanna eat fruits with its skin. Now I can eat it but still, I found that the taste of fruits without skin is much better! I peel the skin off grapes, apples, etc. I found it's nice and can make me smile when do it,,hehe..although it's time consuming, but I just like to see and do the process.. If I don't have time or in a hurry, I will eat it with the skin after wash it first. I think that's normal for child.

I think it's all about the texture with kids.
