At my place lunch consists of rice, rotis made of wheat. Some non-veg curry. It can be egg curry, fish curry or chicken/meat curry. Some vegetables, cereals and salads. Soups, curd and butter milk. Dinner consists of rice, fish curry, vegetables, salads and butter milk. After dinner we have some fruits. Ice-creams/sweets optional. What do you have for lunch and dinner at your place?

I think that it is very interesting as different cultures eat at different times and at many different times a day. We eat three times a day here, that's main meal. Breakfast is cereal, or it can be an egg, sausage, bacon, grits, oatmeal, an omelet, french toast, cinnamon toast, etc... for lunch a sandwich or hamburger, salad, yogurt, etc... dinner a meat, and a few vegetable, a biscuit. I guess it also depends on what part of a country, I'm from the south of the USA so we prepare our foods a little differently from others.

Your new avatar is also as good as the previous one. Both of them shows there is lot of love in the air. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with so many varieties makes me to think of relocating myself to that part of the world. Thanks for your response.

Hello meapas. Usually lunch is our main food. We eat rice for lunch and supper and we cook more vegetables than meat, mostly pork, slim pork without fat. It is the same with us for dinner so far as the food is concerned. Today I had noodles for lunch and it was simply made by me. Take care.

Dear meapas, Since I am a Malaysian Chinese...our regular meals will be rice or noodle based! Normally we will have simple lunch - eat out - eg. noodle soup with fish cake, prawn or chicken meat added with beansprout and fish ball. or mixed rice of 1 meat dish and 2 vege dish / egg. For dinner : Which most family will cook as everyone is back from work and have a proper meal with the family. Steamed Rice, Fried / Steam Fish or Chicken / Pork Egg (Steam / Fried), vegetable dish...and a bowl of soup! All the best and do keep in touch!

So dinner is your most important meal. Yes for most of the working class, dinner is the only main meal. During other part of the day you have to depend on fast foods. Thanks for your response.

Any one from India should like this combination. Your rasam is really unbeatable. Filmstar Dharmendra liked this rasam so much, he finally married his co-star Hema Malini. All for a rasam. Thanks for sharing this with us at mylot.

For lunch we usually have some kind of sandwich like turkey and cheese, ham and cheese or something like that on bread or a roll. We also like tuna fish sandwiches. Everyone in the house will eat that. Sometimes we'll just heat up some leftovers from dinner to eat for lunch. So lunch can be just about anything. Dinner we usually have some kind of meat like chicken, steak, pork, or hamburger. I always make some kind of vegetable with dinner. We seem to eat a lot of green beans in our house. I guess because the kids love them. I will also usually make some kind of starch to have with dinner. Usually some rice or some kind of noodle or macaroni. I always encourage my kids to eat fruit throughout the day too. Sure they have some other snacks like icecream or cookies but fruit is on snack I always have readily available for them to eat. To drink we like iced tea, water, juice or milk. I only buy 100 percent juice though. None of the artificial stuff for us.

I always have rice and other dishes that go along with it. Dishes include chicken, prawns, cuttlefish or fish. But main course has got to have rice! Or the day just feels rather incomplete. Other times I have noodles with curry or other course that won't make my throat feels so dry.

So nice . You have a good variety of non-veg. Prawns are our favourites. It is too much in demand and so it has become very costly here. Hope it is easily available there. Thanks for your response.

The usual food that most people have over here is rice with a number of meat or vegetable dishes. However for us, we can either take rice, noodles or bread. Sometimes we would cook steak or spaghetti, and at times we just go vegetarian, that is salads and mixed vegetables.
