Which Laptop do you consider the best in the market right now

My Laptop has been acting funny lately. It has been taken to repair about 3 times in the last 6 months. Because of all the trouble my computer is giving me and because its still under warranty, I'm really thinking about getting a new one. I looked on a couple of ones before and none of them caught my attention. The first laptop we got was a toshiba and it still works great, the current one I'm thinking on changing is a toshiba too. I think toshibas computers are really good computers. I want something that's good and fast, that I can connect to my tv, burn movies and cds too and of course with Intel core 2 Duo processor. What computer would you recomend. Ohh and I'm not into apple computers, that would require me to buy all the programs again and I can't do it right now.

Asus.. I just bought an Asus G51VX series, quad core processor the latest graphic chip (1gb dedicated), this thing is so fast, so well made, you can't even use all of it's resources yet.. The best part is, I got it for $1300. Sweeet.

That's 1 of the computer I saw at the store yesterday, it looked really good. I don't know if Asus its a good brand or not so that's what made me not too interested on it.

ASus are very reliable and have, currently, the best manufacturer warranty (2 year parts/1year accidental damage) That normally costs money (the accidental damage). Acer is a cheaper laptop, in quality. Dell is too expensive for what you get in a laptop. Apple.. no reason to get one.. they need to come down in prices, there really isnt a need to get one for its price. If someone wants to argue that point, I'd be glad too. Please dont say because of the software or OS...

Right now, I have a MacBook. I've had this one for two years, and it's working really great. I have no complaints. However, I do understand that everyone feels comfortable with different computers. My macbook works fine for me, and I'm really happy with it, but this might not be the case for my neighbors.

I've heard Macbooks are good laptops BUT the programs i use are not for macbooks and i would have to spend more money buying them again.

The basic thing to get is most laptops are technically the same thing if they have the same configuration and the configuration you need depends on the kind of work that you will be doing on your laptop, for example, Gamers require a high RAM, better graphics card and a screen with a higher resolution. In any case, get as high RAM as you can afford, it makes computer run faster and crashes are lesser. Also make sure it has a core2duo or its equivalent or a higher processor. The space you need depends on your preference, personally i think 320 GB is sufficient. Similarly, screen size depends on how you would like it. I like the 17" .. As far as brands go, toshiba and sony are supposed to be decent, but toshiba's warranty and customer support is not that good. Compaq and HP give nice features for low prices but i do not like using them, they start giving too many problems. Dell and Acer i think are good. Hope this helped.

Thanks for the info, I don't use my computer to play. For work(lots of opened screens and doing different things at the same time), I burn cd for photos movies and mostly everythign else is done online. Before I got the toshiba I had a DELL, it didn't work, I tool it to the store and the hard drive was bad (brand new out of the box) so i ended up exchanging for what I have right now. 2 years ago, I purchased a laptop for my mom for her bday, it was a compaq, the same thing happened (hard drive problems right out of the box) so i ended up exchanging for a toshiba and she hasn't had any problems with it. I haven't heard much about ACER's that's why i never tough of getting one but i will do my research on it.

In my country HCL laptops are good. They come in around $600 and they have almost all the features one can order for. And you can customize when buying a laptop. Its almost like assembling a desktops. This is brand is very famous in India and the subcontinent. and the next famous laptops are the ego laptops from WIPRO this is really handy. This is suitable for the common people or not so technologically sound users. Its very handy. Its looks almost like a sony waio.

There are many good laptops available in the market & Toshiba is also a very good one, but for me there will be only one name. That will be LG, since I'm using LG laptops for the past 1yr & since there never was a problem with it, I can't think of anything else.

For me, DELL looks to be the better of the lot. They provide the most powerful range of laptop at reasonably affordable prices, morover it is reliable and is guaranteed to be long lasting.. Toshiba is also good,(there are many other good brands that I haven't had a look at.)Acer reportedly hav some over heating problems.. If you wanna be the proud owner of the macbook.. and hav the extra bux alotted you can go for it..For you that doesn't seem to suit.. so go for DELL.

i'd suggest u ratehr go for a Dell laptop. currently i'm using there XPS series and it's working like hell. So far no troubles in last 7 months. My another laptop is an old IBM thinkpad which still works fine. But don't go for new lenovo series. they are of no use, hang a lot. Toshiba is fine but i just don't know much about it. one of my fiend had it like 4 years back. it was ok.

To give you any real helpful advice i'd need to know your price range. Since you haven't provided one, I highly recommend the HP HDX Premium series which can cost anywhere from 700$-3000$. The range is so high because HP allows you to customize most of the key parts of the laptop. They also have available to the the latest in computer technology and they have decent pricing as well. HP is the way to go if you want to personalize your laptop.
