Do you use a screen saver in your computer. My son does not allow me to download all those beautiful sceneries, like fishes or jungle scenes, his contention, is, it takes a huge space and at times there might be trojons in these screen savers. What is your opinion on this.

Using a screen saver, it depends on what kind of display, if you are using a CRT monitor, then the use of protective procedures, which will be protected, if you are using a LCD liquid crystal display, then the screen saver is a little good No, but there are disadvantages. If you are using a LCD display, when you want to leave the computer for some time, you have the most correct way is to turn off your monitor.

Thanks for the information wangjihong350. I am still using a CRT monitor, and hope to replace it with a LCD monitor.

I don't have a screen saver in my laptop. And I don't plan to install one. Our office computer has the screen saver and it irritates me when I leave the computer for a little while and when I come back, i have to move the mouse for sometime to get back to the previous page I was working on. And what's the purpose of the screen saver by the way? To save on electricity? How much can you save say of you leave the computer for 15 minutes. If I have to be away from the computer for many hours, then i have to turn it off to save electricity more.

I do use screen saver but only to blank it out very much like turning the screen off. I have selected this to somehow reduce the consumption of my monitor if I leave it for a while but I do turn it off if its processing a very lengthy task and I won't be around.
