How did you feel when you hold a new born baby?

My spouse's brother's wife just labored last week, it was a baby girl. We went to the hospital and visited them. I was excited to see the little baby and wanted to hold her, I think that was the first time that I held a 5 hours old new born baby, she is so tiny and delicate, I held her carefully and touched her little fingers, so cute!!
I was quite nervous and it made me sweat a little :-p
I had experience of holding babies before but she was the youngest baby that I ever held!

Babies look fragile, so innocent and I love the baby scent even if you do not take them a bath..they still smells wonderful

Babies looks so fragile,and was a sweet thing to hold.
I always like to hold a new born baby,they smells so sweet(natural baby scents).

When I held here, I felt like I cannot talk... because little louder of noise will both er them... they are just delicate and little hehe :-)

Hello mermaidivy,
The only new born baby that I held before was my son. I am afraid to hold new born babies as they are so delicate and tiny. I am afraid that I will drop them accidentally! I love to see them but I don't feel comfortable to hold them when they are just born!

No way. Ever since I never hold a newly born baby because of the softness of the baby. I feel uneasy holding it, besides, I am afraid I might get break some of his/her body parts of something. I don't really understand I feel awkward holding an infant...

I feel.. scared. lol ^_^ I don't hold babies when they were months old, maybe a year or two. haha, I too scared to hold'em and afraid I might break their necks, weew! scaryY!

The first time I held a newborn baby I was so nervous. I thought I might accidentally drop the baby! LOL This was back before I had kids of my own. A friend of mine had a little baby girl. I think she (the baby) was a few days old when I went to go visit (she's 17 now). I didn't really want to hold her just because she was so small and delicate and I never held a newborn before. I didn't want to goof it up, after all. But my friend insisted and I did better than I expected. LOL

ha ha ha ha ha... I too get excited when I get the chance to hold a new born. They are like so tiny! And so delicate, you are afraid that you will break them if you are not careful. And that peaceful look in their faces when you hold them, just melts your heart!

These days my reaction to babies is awwwwww i want one. They are so precious and tiny and delicate when they are new. And soft!
I have had lots of experience with babies - i was 15 when my youngest sister was born and I loved to hold her (diaper changing didnt even bug me) as well as multitudes of cousins and now cousins babies!
