What animal do you find as the best pet to have?

I have had a few pets. The pet that I have found is the best is a dog. I think it is very true that a dog is a man's best friend. Especially when you raise them with alot of love and care and teach them how to love and care. They are very loyal and loving and cuddly. They can be fun to play with to. They also seem to listen when you talk to them. So I was wondering if anyone had a few minutes to stop by and let me know what kinds or kind of animal you find is the best pet or friend that you would have or you do have?

I've had a dog, fish, cats, budgies & a rabbits. Dogs are fun and the best to have around, they are good for protection and you can play games like fetch and stuff when your board. They are also cuddy and cute. The most annoying pet was the budgies they would never be quiet. Ever.

'Budgie' is just slang for Budgerigar which are birds :) .

I'm partial to cats. Cats are so cute and huggable, cuddly and seemingly sweet! The only thing I don't like about cats is that they don't do too much! Most cats just sit around and chill, oh and they also shed like crazy. But in all, cats are the most domestic if you ask me! Taripre$

What do you mean by less care? As in less care about what's going on, or less care as in maintenance?! Cats, if trained properly are just like dogs as in house training. They cleanse themselves as well unlike dogs, which is great; ever tried giving a cat a bath Won't happen Taripre$

Cats do not do to much like a dog would. They are more cuddly or wanting to be left alone over being playful. They tend to take alot less care than a dog also. Happy Mylotting.

Oh gosh...I love all animals, so this is a difficult question for me. I've had dogs, cats, fish and birds. I've also been around horses which I really love. But I think I would have to say, if I HAD to pick out of them...I would have to say dog. I have a cat that I defeniatly would not give up for the world, but I think I am more of a dog person. Although cats have great personalities and are SO good at showing emotion, when they want to...dogs Can't NOT show their emotions, and love--you always know how I dog is feeling, and usually that feeling is love. When a dog is taken care of, they love UNCONDITIONALLY! Although my cat shows a lot of similar traits with dogs; she is VERY sweet, I always know she loves me, my cat sits with me when I'm upset, she goes to the pet store with me. :) And like I said, I wouldn't give her up for anything. But OVERALL, dogs are my life.

I've had several different pets over the years as well, and I couldn't agree more. We have dogs now and they are just so much more interactive and fun than other animals. Each has their own personality and nuances and they can show off their intelligence (and sometimes stupidity) too. I do understand having other pets though. When I was little, fish was a good choice. They aren't as high maintenance and still have a little responsibility and ownership. Some people just don't like dogs or don't have the means or desire to take care of them.

Looking back on my past pets, it was kind of a responsibility progression. Start with the fish, then onto a rabbit, birds, cat and now onto dogs. I think it was a good plan. My parents always made sure that I could take care of each pet on my own. Now I totally appreciate the interaction aspect of having your pet be your friend.

I can understand a pet like fish in our younger years it is a good pet to start off with to learn responsibility. As we all get older we look for pets that can give us some of what we give them like love and friendship. They are really great to hang out with and play with.

I have had dogs, birds and fishes but I also think that dogs and the best pets for me for the same reasons that you have. I also do get attached to dogs more than any other animal that I have had I guess it has to do with the way they are with me because they are really friendly and I know that they are always trying to take care of me and my loved ones.

I am definitely a cat person. I enjoy dogs, but I wouldn't want the maintenance of owning one. Cats certainly teach you how to behave. They demand respect and take no baloney. But when they give their love it is sincere. They have no doubts about themselves, and that is a lesson I take to heart-- I love their self-confidence. Even my cat who is shy will not put up with anything that does not meet her particular tastes. I've wanted birds before, but haven't figured out how that would work with cats in the house, and I won't be without my cats! Thanks for asking the question.

Oh, yeah! Birds and cats get along fine. I remember we had a bird and several cats, and they kicked it like they were best friends. The cat would play with the bird in the cage and scare her,and the bird would yell at her and scratch at the cage, it was cool! Taripre$

I to also never knew that cats and birds would be able to get along so well. I thought they would be against each other. Cats do have the tendency to teach us how to behave and act. I have a cat that is very miss priss and runner of the show around here.

Well, I love both cats and dogs...dogs for their tender companionship, and cats for their independence...you can leave a cat home alone a lot longer than a dog, without guilt. But my son has had several pets during his short years so far - fish, snails, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs - but the best pet I believe he had was a pet rat. When he first brought one home from the pet store, I really thought I would strangle him, but once I got over the icky look of it's tail, I soon found that they were a loving creature. Once they get used of you, they too like to cuddle, and eat off your hands, and they can run all over the place without messing on the floor, and when you are tired of them, they are easily stored away in their cage. The only sad thing about them, is that they only live for 2-3 yrs...hard on the child when they are attached to them.

I think dogs are also the best pets to have. During the first few months though may seem to be an adjustment since you have to house train them or train them in general. I have tried having a rabbit. It was a good experience, but when they grow big, they would be difficult to manage since they would grow really long nails and they can be difficult to groom. Fishes are great too. They are nice to look at. Dogs are really sweet and you can hug them all you want.

Dogs through the first few months tend to be alittle off because you are right they do need to adjust to the new life and area of where they are at. But once they do adjust they are great.

Dogs are simply the best. The only problem is their short life span.

It is heartbreaking that they have suck a short life span. They are just like your children and it hurts very much when they go.

Oh my, I do not think I could ever bring myself to have a snake or a pig for a pet. I am very much afraid of all snakes anyways and pigs take way to much to be able to survive.

I just love dogs. They are more than pets to me. In fact, I hate calling them pets. They are my true friends. I have a German Shepperd whose name is Dude. According to his name, he is just like my dude. If you really take care, they care for you too. They can understand your emotions, moods, and will do just anything to cheer you up. Well, this is what i think about dogs, Oh, and of course, prefer Dogs as the best Dude( Sorry, I can tell it a p**)

I love dogs, but since I live in an apartment I have a cat now. He's about a year old now and I love him. He cuddles with me for just a little bit in the evenings. Likes to play some, and the rest of the time just does silly things that make me laugh. I've never really liked cats before, but my husband wanted one, and he's been great. He even runs to the front door when he hears one of our cars pull up to the house.

That seems to be the worst part about an apartment these days. No landlord really wants tenants to have a dog they really only seem to allow cats. I know that cats also can be nice pets to have I have a cat and dog I am someone that just prefers dogs. Happy Mylotting.

Hai the best animal to have as pet is only the dog. But we must maintain it properly, like feeding with correct food at their ages, bathing, having injection for poison beating. But once if a dog became your family it will be your best friend as long as it lives. The life of a dog is only 12 years which is tragady for those who are having dogs as pet animal

I am used to dogs and cats, but I have never had a rabbit so I cannot say I know how they are or how they act. I know they are cute I have held some before. They must take alot of work to take care of.

For me it is cats. I have had pet cats since I was four years old and loved them even before that - my first and favourite soft toy was a cat. just seem to understand them and vice versa. my mum often used to say i must have been a cat in a previous life! I love cats because they are intelligent, independent, clean and have such diverse personalities. They can be everything from regal to ridiculous and are always entertaining.
