What Bill Of Rights Are You Reading?

The One And Only Bill Of Rights - I still can not find a right to health insurance, but there is a right to gun ownership

Well is question is assuming that you have even read the Bill of Rights. Yesterday I wrote a discussion arguing the point that health insurance is some how a right yet gun ownership is not. Amazingly so many actually think that health insurance is a right, yet gun ownership is not. The favorite argument was never one had anything to do with the other. Actually they were right. One is a right and the other is not. The problem is they chose the wrong right. One last thing the Bill of Rights does not give us rights, we always had them. The Bill of Right dictates to the Federal government what it cannot regulate. So apparently there is actually a Bill of Rights floating around people have a right to health insurance but not gun ownership. So I would like to see this new Bill of Rights.

You are correct, and I would like to see this new bill og rights as well. There was a lot of non US comments in that discussion... frankly they had no idea what they were talking about.

Apparently you have much more than a selective reading disorder... you seem to have a defective victimization mentality that seems to make you think that the taxpayers owe you something. You also have no idea what you are talking about, because if you did you would be against this 0bamacare. We have the best healthcare in the world... it is so good in fact, that people come here to have their medical needs met because they cannot get the same level of care in their own countries that have National Healthcare, Socialized Medicine, or whatever other name it goes by. As a disabled, former taxpayer who "contributed" for 30 years into the system, as well as someone who uses the VA medical facilities.. I know what I am talking about. Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are in serious trouble... yet idiots such as yourself want to put the rest of the country into that same failed framework. Are you insane... or just really stupid?

I hate this board!! Just spent all my free time this morning typing out a response to you in wordpad and can't copy it over??? oh, well...here's the abbreviated version... the society with the world's greatest healthcare system would leave one of it's members laying in a bed, with a splint on their leg, knowing they will not be able to ever walk again without it being taken care of and not give a crap!!! This I know, this I experienced!!! Until then, I thought such things only happened in third world countries! Tell ya what, I don't owe such a society crap!!!

The thing is the public plan will actually take rights away from us. We will not have the choices we now have. When care is rationed,we will be denied the right to live! That's the most important right of all! Interesting how the left calls something a right that denies rights to others.

Life is the first of the unalienable rights, because without life what does liberty or the pursuit of happiness matter. Though one could argue that without liberty or the pursuit of happiness what would be the point of life. The life of a serf is not that great.
