Hello mylotters. This question is for Filipinos. What documents are considered proof of address? Is proof of address the same as proof of billing? Can I use my passport as proof of address? I'm having a hard time gathering all the documents that I need for a certain subscription, and your answer would help me a lot. Thanks.

proof of billing address can be at home or at your work... but proof of address is actually referring to your address where your staying or live with or simply says your home address. you passport and SSS are only a valid ID though your exact address doesnt show there. best proof of address is your meralco bill and water bill coz this will show your exact address... if your meralco or water bill is not under your name you can still use it as long as theres a supporting documents that will show that you also stay in that place like your school or work ID with address same as what you have in meralco or water bill. when i applied for postpaid phone and when they sk for my proof of address, i show them my sister meralco bill, and since its not under my name, i also show them my NBI clearance coz the address was the same there.

Hello homeshoppers! Your answer perfectly relates to my problem. I have a regular job, but the bills at home are under my mother's name. But I have other documents that would validate that I also live in the same house, so I hope that they would be enough.

Passport is always the number one requirements when processing any transactions.could it be business or bank transactions. Yes,proof of billing such as MERALCO,NAWASA,INTERNET can be used also and also a valid docu... And if you have other ID's such as SSS,POSTAL ID,TIN as long as those ID's were indicating your present address,it is valid proofs. But if your transaction is asking your proof of address, then,i guess proof of billing is much applicable.(meralco, nawasa, pldt, smartbro etc)

Oh drat. I was hoping that I could use my passport. But I didn't know about the barangay certificate. From what I've heard, it's pretty easy to get one provided that you have government IDs. Thank god I have those! Thanks for your detailed reply and happy mylotting!

Do you have a credit card and you as the principal card holder (not as an extension). The credit card billing statement is a good proof of billing.
