Hinder vs. Papa Roach

This past weekend, Hinder and Papa Roach gave a concert in my area, and this is my feedback on the show. First, I would like to say that there is a new band that is awesome. They won our local 'Battle of the Bands' and had the honor for opening up for Hinder and Papa Roach. You can check them out on myspace. Dry Season. The runners-up also opened the show on Sunday, they are Tall Boy. I don't know if they have a web page. Back to my critique of the show. Hinder gave an awesome performance, tons of positive crowd participation. They were giving 'high fives', shaking hands, getting the crowd to sing certain parts, getting a mosh pit going, the guitarist gave my boyfriend his guitar pick in the middle of a song, my son got a handshake. It was a great show. Then Papa Roach came out. They did a great show, as well. But there wasn't very much crowd participation. They got some 'sing-alongs' out of the crowd, and some 'fill in the missing part', but when it came to interacting with the crowd, they sucked. The lead singer came to our end of the stage and kind of squatted down right in front of us. My son was reaching out his hand, that guy was so close to my son, it would have been an effortless reach, not even a fully extended reach, but apparently he wasn't in the mood to touch 'common folk', so he just stood back up and walked to the other side. Don't anybody get me wrong. I like Papa Roach, but I don't like people who get famous, then forget where they came from. I lose respect for people for that. I understand that they don't have time to sign every autograph, pose for every photo, do every interview... but come on. When you are giving a concert and you see a fan reaching for you, give them a high-5. Anyway, I think DrySeason is awesome, look them up. Hinder gives a great show, and Papa Roach should stick to the radio.

We just saw Saving Abel, Hinder, papa Roach and Nickelback last month. Im surprised completely by your response because our experience was the total opposite. Hinder came out sang a few songs, didnt get much response and didnt really seem to try to either, on the other hand, papa Roach ROCKED!! They were the best part of the whole show! They got everyone going, I mean dont get me wrong, Hinder was good, but papa roach really put on a good show, maybe they were just wore out or something, I mean, they cant be exact every night, I wish you could have seen them the way we did, they were awesome! Also, Saving Abel was ok. Nickelback puts on a great show! The pyrotechnics, lights, music, fire, solos and jokes from the lead singer, it was all great, definately worth seeing!! We danced our butts off and are still playing tons of Nickelback and Papa Roach in the car just so we can think about the concert and smile!

I'm very glad that your concert was so rewarding. I think overall, the concert was fabulous. I think we saw the same 'tour'. Nickleback had played with them like Friday and Saturday, But I'm not sure when Saving Abel was here. I'm glad your concert was memorable.

Thats true but I can kind of see why some of them act like that but sometimes there are things that happen to make them be that way and they fear their safety. The newer bands tend to be more interactive with fans because they haven't been in the business long enough to know better or haven't run into the sycho fans yet. One of my favorite not so well known bands even lets their fans come up and jump around and dance on the stage with them and they will grab them and hug them in the midst of singing.

That's awesome, I really like bands like that. Crowd participation and interaction is so important.
