TV or INTERNET: Which would you give up first?

For me that’s an easy decision. I would give up TV in a heartbeat. I can do so much more online-earning money, shopping, playing games, keeping up with friends, etc. TV is limited to what the producers want you to watch. I live with my parents and they have a TV, but in my own house I don’t expect to have one. What about you? Which would you give up first?

The TV will have to go. In fact I already gave it up in exchange for the computer. Before the TV and the computer are placed next to each other. I separated them into two different rooms and I am very glad about it. The electric bill is now lowered. What my nephew used to do was open the computer and watch TV at the same time, now that those two are separated I am glad and have no regrets about it. On the thoughts of completely giving it up, I might not be able to do that, its the only pass time my mum enjoys, a sort of relaxation on her part. She loves watching the telenovelas every night.

I don't know how he does it. But when I asked him about it, he says it keeps him tuned in to what he is doing. And sometimes he talks about the news and said he heard it or seen it from TV.

It would be a big distraction for me to have a tv and pc next to each other too. Thanks for responding

I have both in one, as a matter of fact I cancelled my TV subscription. All you do is hook up your PC into your LCD or HDTV. You can get all the TV channels, news channels, and even free movies from the internet. So instead of paying a bill for cable and the internet, I just pay one for internet only. I bought an HP computer with wifi 5 without the screen, and have a remote control, remote mouse, and remote keyboard...et voila...internet on your big screen with all the options to watch any channels you want.

To add...the only that changed is the way you surf channels...You can also hook up cable TV through your PC if you have a Tuner Card. Windows Media will receive your TV channels and radio too.

Though I don't use either of them much, TV will be dumped first if i have to make a choice. I don't have access to it anyway, while I'm here studying. For internet, as everyone says here, it provides a lot....

I would give up TV first easily because I can't pick what I want to do on TV I just have to watch whatever is on or turn it off. With the internet I can do research or play games or even watch TV shows that I want to show.

Hello, if I had to give up one I would rather give up TV. I could watch some of what I watch on the internet if I didn't have a television. My internet I get through the cable tv line. Only thing I don't have is a land line telephone. I only have a cell phone to keep in touch.

I would give TV up because it is just as easy nowadays to watch tv channels online via streaming media, and the quality isn't too bad. :)

Television. We watch so many movies so there's no point in even having cable in my house, to be honest. But I would much rather take internet over television because I can watch TV on that if I really want to, and I can play games, earn some cash, talk to friends. I can interact with internet and I can't with a tele, so...tele goes anyday!

I'm like you, this one's easy for me too. I'd give up television too. Basically anything I want to watch is at my fingertips online as well as games, social networking, earnings, etc... Honestly, I've considered getting rid of the TV but we get a bundle price, so it's cheaper to just keep cable tv.

TV I can do without and I only watch it if there's nothing else for me to do. Internet has so much more to offer cos you can be a part of whats happening, get involved, make friends, learn a lot of things and most importantly, ask questions and get a hundred different answers which could all be correct depending on the situation. I don't know what I'll do without the internet, it has become so much a part of my life like getting up in the morning, brushing your teeth, washing your face, drinking your coffee and switching your computer on and surfing.

TV would definitely be the first to go for me. There was a time that I wouldn't think I'd be able to give either of them up, but with the way that the computer and internet world works today, it wouldn't be all that difficult to give up the TV. There are so many things that you can do online that you simply cannot do with a television. You can play games you can read, you can listen to music and watch videos. Heck, you can even find episodes of your favorite television shows to watch. Were it not for my two children I actually believe we could live without TV right now.

Of course I would give up TV. On TV you do nothing but watch what happens, if you don't like something you can't change it. On the internet you can DO things. Much more to do, both entertainment and work. And most of the things on TV can be found on the internet anyways, so keeping the internet is a better choice.

Definitely TV. You can do so many things on Internet including watching TV. But you can not chat with others, play games by TV. I think someday, TV will be totally replaced by computer, or TV will be only one function of computer.

I would give up my TV, but I would miss it. I still watch most of the TV shows I like on it. But yeah I would give up the TV because you can watch it on the internet and you can do lots of other stuff like shop, talk, etc.

I would give up the TV without any hesitation! Acutally, I think I've given up the TV in favor of the internet for a long time now. I still watch from time to time, but I'm not longer addicted to it like I used to. Unfortunately, now I am addicted to the computer and my DS.

I would definitely give up the tv first. I am more into computer than watching movies or programs in the tv. You can also watch shows and other stuff in the internet.

Do I have to give up one of them? Okay then I will. I will give up the TV. I don't watch that much TV any more.I use my computer as a stress reliever. I also use it for some work sites. But I will have to admit mylot is more than just a work site.

Hello k46620, cool name it's like a James Bond or hit-man sort of name. like you, id rather give up television because i know that you don't get paid or earn a lot of money by simply watching television, even if it has cable. i'd rather go for internet and computer because it allows me to explore things around the world. and more than that i get to watch shows that i haven't watch before..

Here's how I got that username: K466 is the code name for Mozart's Piano concerto 20, one of my favorites. I had to have a longer name than that so I added 20 at the end, which of course is because it is the 20th piano concerto Thanks for responding

Its very obvious from the discussion so far that TV would be one to go. I am going to add one more vote to Internet. The gist is that you can do whatever you want with Internet. It has a wide coverage including TV. So why bother having TV alone when you can have both TV & Internet just by opting for Internet.
