Why does paypal ask me for credit card #? Is it important?

If it is during account set up, then it is important. At that point they are asking you to confirm who you are. However, if you have your account fully set up, you don't need to add a credit card to your account.

it is not manditory tat u should have a credit card.. u can also manage the account with out a credit card but u can only do online shopping then...

I don't know when I was setting up my account they didn't asked me for a credit card...
